Fab Freebie: Doggone To Sleep

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

A couple of weeks ago we asked our Facebook fans to share pictures of their pets (since we talk incessantly about Burger) and got an awesome response – over 100 photos and links of their four-legged friends (which you can browse right here under Fan Photos). So we figured a giveaway geared towards your pooches (and meowsers) was in order. Enter AllModernPet.com stage right…

AllModernPet Web Site

AllModernPet.com is just one ofshoot of a slew of sites (like AllModern.com) that offer a wide range of products for us humans too, from Herman Miller office furniture to Murray Feiss lighting. But that pic of the Boston Terrier sprawled out on his dog bed had us at hello, so we present to you an AllModernPet.com pet bed giveaway. One lucky pet parent will win their choice of an awesome easy-on-the-eyes bed so their furry family member can sleep in style (and your pup’s “bedroom” can be as stylish as your own).

AllModernPet Dog Beds

Here are this week’s giveaway details:

  • PRIZE: Your choice of one dog bed from Bowsers, For The Dogs and Harry Barker (Rectangle or Round), any size and fabric you’d like (valued at up to $151).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “DOGGONE IT!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us about the strange place(s) your cat or dog currently likes to fall asleep. Burger’s got a whole list of weird places and positions that he dozes off in, so we’re sure your pets have some kooky sleeping habits of their own.
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, September 9th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One (well, two if you count the winner’s pet)
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA this time (including Alaska and Hawaii)
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

DOGGONE IT! You pup loves to lay anywhere near us. On top of shoes, on the rug, on freshly cleaned laundry. The kitties are a bit more creative and love window sills, the dogs crate and a tiny little nook in our upstairs bedroom.

Doggone it! Our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Buster loves to crash with me on our bed. The only thing is, he isn’t allowed on the bed at night, so since I usually go to bed first between my husband and myself, he snuggles with me up until the moment my husband walks into the bedroom. Then he hops down to the floor where he sleeps all night until my husband’s alarm goes off in the morning. Then he jumps right back onto the bed and resumes his snooze-fest with me!

OOOOhhhhh how we would love one of these doggy beds. We always buy cheapo dog beds and then throw them out after a couple washes and go get a new one. But I ofdten wonder if I should invest in an expensive one or try to make my own covers?!! Love these! My 80lb dog Biggs would be so happy! :)

DOGGONE IT!! My Australian Shepherd has two favorite places to sleep right now… she curls up behind our big recliner when we are watching tv. Once I head to bed, she plops herself down in my husband’s spot with her head on the pillow! She has been doing this every night since we got married 5 years ago even though she knows she has to move once the hubby comes to bed. Her own spot NEXT to the bed would be a welcome change for my husband! Love the giveaway (and your site)!

Our Great Dane, Angus (see, he’s related to Burger…), spends at least 18 hours a day sleeping, if not more. But he’s pretty particular about where he’ll crash. He wants the couch — the same spot on the couch every time. There’s also an armchair that he claimed pretty much the moment it came home from the thrift store. I was so amazed that he could fit in it that I just let him have it. He also lounges on an old twin bed in the computer room while hubby plays COD. Needless to say, I wash a lot of slipcovers…

Our dogs, Charlie and Maggie, sleep in various spots around our apartment. The most unusual was the tub. When Charlie was a puppy he would climb in the tub on summer days to sleep in a cool spot. He no longer does this as he has had far too many baths in his two years of life and hates baths.

Our (too spoiled!) pup sleeps with us (much to my husband’s dismay). It was originally my idea- & was so sweet when he was a 10 lb puppy, but now he’s a 70 lb beast & it’s not so cute anymore. We would love to “transition” him to the floor & maybe a neat doggie pillow would help ease him (& mom) in to it! :)

DOGGONE IT!!! I currently have 3 dogs. 2 of my own and 1 foster dog. It still amazes me where they always find places to curl up. Right now they are all curled up on the couch beside me. But I’ve seen them under clothes in the closet, under the dining room table, and most recently (aka 15 minutes ago) snoozing on top of the dining room table. (No…I didn’t know she was there and she got the boot as soon as I did.)

Are you kidding.. my babies fall asleep everywhere… lets see Fritz my 8 lb yorkie poo sleeps on the top cushion of the couch, on the floor in our sun room where he moves with the rays of the sun, on our living room couch which is stiff and all alone in a corner of the house, on top of my feet sometimes oh, or on my face for that matter and he loves to sleep under the covers with his head tucked in and his butt out.. too silly!

Brutus, our 4 lb yorkie likes to sleep on the top of everything… the back of a chair, couch, cushion.. and he does the splits when he settles, his other favorite place is on our tiled kitchen floor where he sprawls his super long back legs out.

You gotta love your pets, the are such a source of unconditional love and entertainment!

My American Eskimo mix, Rae, loves to fall asleep with her face mushed up against things. Our pups are crate-trained, and we’ll come home after work and find her little face smushed against the front of her (two-sizes too large!!!) crate, with her fur poking out every which way. It doesn’t look at all comfy, but that’s how she likes it :-)

We have two dogs: Marzipan is a full 10 pound Havanese-Papillon mix who eschews her bed for Spock’s roomier model, and Spock is an 86 pound Labradoodle who shuns his bed for the cold tile. Not the rug, not the wood floors, but the tile. Hopefully, with a nice new bed with little sides he will feel comfortable enough to stay in his bed!

Our little angel Bailey has to hog as much of our King size bed as possible and she has to do the “doggy twirl” and then plop half ontop of my leg so she is touching basically to know that I haven’t left the bed, followed by a deeeep breath and a heavy sigh at the end. She needs a doggy bed so my hubs and I can “re-claim” ours!!! Lol

My little buddy Tyson sleeps more like a mountain goat than a min-pin. He prefers to fall asleep on top of a pile of folded laundry or the very top corner of our wingback chair. I find it pretty amazing that he manages to perch in these places. Maybe with one of these AllModernPet beds he’ll snooze a little closer to the ground!
