Fab Freebie: Doggone To Sleep

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

A couple of weeks ago we asked our Facebook fans to share pictures of their pets (since we talk incessantly about Burger) and got an awesome response – over 100 photos and links of their four-legged friends (which you can browse right here under Fan Photos). So we figured a giveaway geared towards your pooches (and meowsers) was in order. Enter AllModernPet.com stage right…

AllModernPet Web Site

AllModernPet.com is just one ofshoot of a slew of sites (like AllModern.com) that offer a wide range of products for us humans too, from Herman Miller office furniture to Murray Feiss lighting. But that pic of the Boston Terrier sprawled out on his dog bed had us at hello, so we present to you an AllModernPet.com pet bed giveaway. One lucky pet parent will win their choice of an awesome easy-on-the-eyes bed so their furry family member can sleep in style (and your pup’s “bedroom” can be as stylish as your own).

AllModernPet Dog Beds

Here are this week’s giveaway details:

  • PRIZE: Your choice of one dog bed from Bowsers, For The Dogs and Harry Barker (Rectangle or Round), any size and fabric you’d like (valued at up to $151).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “DOGGONE IT!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us about the strange place(s) your cat or dog currently likes to fall asleep. Burger’s got a whole list of weird places and positions that he dozes off in, so we’re sure your pets have some kooky sleeping habits of their own.
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, September 9th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One (well, two if you count the winner’s pet)
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA this time (including Alaska and Hawaii)
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Ms. Lily loves to sleep on my feet. She is a lab mix rescue dog who thinks she is smaller than she is. She wants to cuddle with us on our bed but their is not that much room, so she ends up on my feet.

    DOGGONE IT!

We’ve had our 10 month old border collie for 3 weeks now and I’m consistently impressed with his ability to sleep in odd spots. His most unusual, however, is the few times he’s fallen asleep under one of our taller rose bushes. Gutsy, that one.

His favorite, I’m sure, is the white chair in our living room. He’s not allowed on furniture, but the fur left behind is a pretty good indication he’ll do what he wants when his parents are gone.

Those pet beds are adorable! I wish I could get my pets to sleep on a designated bed. My cat has a way of burrowing himself under the covers of my bed and sleeps there until someone finds him. My dog will sleep on the couch, in the corner, at the foot of my bed, and even on piles of clothes.

TheDog is 70 lbs and so doesn’t really fit in many weird spots (I thought sleeping on any laundry on the floor was normal for a dog) but he has mastered the ability to plop down in a way that pulls the blanket hanging over the side of the bed or couch onto the floor so he can sleep on it. Then there is the weird pose he takes while sleeping in the backseat of the car – snout against the seat back and pointed straight up.

DOGGONE IT! Truman, our dalmatian, doesn’t really have an odd place he likes to sleep, but he prefers anyplace with cushion – the couch, his pillow, or our bed. If he’s really tired, he’ll just conk out in the middle of the floor somewhere.

Jellyby, our shih tzu, likes to sleep right on top of our heads. Ever since my husband and I got memory foam pillows, she’s loved nothing more than to curl up in between our pillows and to snooze blissfully away. When it gets too hot in that spot, she’ll relocate to another part of our pillows, so that we usually wake up with paw or tail on our face.

Our dog, Elvis (a girl – yes, very confusing, but my brother-in-law named her!) likes to mainly sleep next to the bed or couch. Better yet, she loves to be next to one of those with your feet under her. Which is great in the winter, but DOGGONE IT in the Texas summer, she’s a little too warm!

Her strange place to hang out (at least in my opinion) is in the bright sunshine in our front yard when it is 104 degrees outside.

Love your site – lots of great inspiration, just wish I had lots of time!
