It’s no secret that we loves us some HomeGoods. So how psyched are we to give one of you a $500 gift card this week? Answer: very psyched. And if you’re stumped on how to spend that money, HomeGoods has a new series of “Design Happy” videos to help inspire and guide you. Like the one below that offers up some simple tricks for adding color to a room through pillows & accessories (which just happen to be two of our favorite things to hunt for at HomeGoods):

I’m super into the very pale light blue I just painted the tops and sides of our mid-century sideboard in the dining room. (We oiled and waxed the wood on the drawers and door fronts and left them unpainted for a two-tone look.) It’s a color called “ozone” and it picks up some shades of blue sky in a photograph that’s hanging right above it, which makes me verry happy.

COLOR ME! Our home is mostly neutral with muted natural tones (blues, greens) year round, and though I’ve added some oranges for fall, I’m counting down the days till we chew our last bite of Thanksgiving turkey and deck the home with red and dark green for Christmas! This is our first Christmas in a house, and we didn’t decorate at all last year as we moved cross-country the week before Christmas and stayed with family for 2 weeks before closing on our house before the New Year. I can not WAIT to unpack all the festive decor in a few weeks!
