This week’s giveaway sponsor practically needs no introduction. It’s Valspar Paint (which Meredith successfully figured out last week from our anagram clue). But Valspar isn’t just offering up paint this week, they’ve also created a great online resource for couples faced with the challenge of combining their styles. The “Love, Our Style” site includes some painting tips via a Painting 101 section, a photo contest where you can win a paint makeover, and – our favorite part – a quiz to help figure out how to merge your aesthetic with your partner’s.
And although Sherry and I feel like we’ve figured out our combined style pretty well, we jumped at the chance to see how we fared with the quiz. After 10 simple (and sometimes thought-provoking) multiple choice questions, the quiz revealed that our style is “Relaxed” which came with this description: “You’re in perfect harmony when it comes to your eye for the simple yet functional. When it comes to your home decor, eco-conscious style- like natural textures, tones and sustainable furnishings- can play a big part. Take your love of the outdoors and find inspiration in nature, with warm neutrals.” Pretty dead on, eh? Not to mention that the paint colors they suggested are pretty much right up our alley too.
So here’s the scoop on how you can score some free Valspar paint this week:

I took it by myself (guessing at my husband’s answers) and got Relaxed Modern. Probably a bit colder of a palette than I would normally go for, but maybe if I take it again with his actual answers, we might get something different.
Maybe with this gallon of paint I could paint the bathroom (last room in our condo we haven’t painted) or the china cabinet in our dining room. We used Valspar paint in every other room, so it would be great to get a shot at collecting another color!

Restful sleep (I think a SW color) painted daughter’s bedroom furniture in this soothing off white against apple green walls.
Most of the rooms in our house are a foot smaller because of all the paint layers.!

I also like the Sproost website… they have a “quiz” you can do that also tells you your style. According to my results there I’m 80% Nantucket and 20% Traditional Country.

I took the quiz and it says I am “RELAXED CLASSIC”. The picture shown in lavender/purple which I despise, but the results say I am drawn to pale greens and blues and that is pretty accurate.

Like a lot of others seems I cheated and guessed my boyfriends answers to the quiz. But I ended up with ‘Relaxed Romantic’ Which seems pretty accurate, I’ll have to see how much difference there is when he answers. I already know that the any paint I win will be used in the tiny office we are converting into a bednook when he moves in. (And if I can convince him it’ll be a muted lavender which the quiz thinks he will like.)

Took the quiz as you suggested. The results are in and we’re RELAXED! i am not too keen on the paint color suggestions but in general I think it was reasonably accurate. My husband and I just bought a log home engulfed by lilac and electric blue walls and we have debated our style type. He want rustic (no thanks deer heads) and I prefer to call my style organic/transitional. Hopefully it comes out ok :) This 1st home decorating is rough ahaha
