Fab Freebie: City Love

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

This week’s TWO lucky winners are… Maria G (who loves Kansas City despite being under 12-15″ of snow at the moment) and Fiona (who loves her hometown of Washington DC so much she even loves the traffic). Congrats you two!

Today marks the seven year anniversary of our move to Richmond, VA. Woo hoo! It’s crazy to think that it has been that long, and to celebrate this week’s giveaway is from a city-minded artist: Kimberly of Albie Designs. We’ve had her charming illustration of New York City hanging in our hallway o’ frames for as long as there has been a frame collection there (my sister bought it for Sherry for her birthday a few years back). And now Kimberly has released a Richmond city print. So whether you want her new RVA work of art, or others from around the country (and even the globe) you’ll get your pick thanks to the $100 gift card that she’s offering up to two lucky winners.

Albie Designs Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card to Albie Designs on Etsy
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I LOVE [INSERT CITY NAME HERE]” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … why you love it so much. Is it a city you’re just thrilled to live in? Is a place that always makes you happy to visit? Or maybe it’s a city that you’ve never been to, but fantasize about visiting?
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Huzzah! This giveaway is available worldwide.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…

I LOVE RICHMOND, VA because it’s got lots to do and is situated close enough to the mountains and the sea that you could take advantage of either if you got tired of the river here!

I LOVE CHICAGO! We became our family there. It’s still where my favorite community lives. It’s so easy to get around, the lake, the food!, the music/theater/improv scene. I’ll stop now…

I LOVE Houston!! When I first moved here over four years ago, I never thought the city would grow on me as much as it has. I love being close to my friends, bars, restaurants, parks, the bayou, bike trails, the smell of fresh bread from the bread factory down the road, the friendly people and the downtown view from my apartment balcony.

I love Philadelphia not only because of its importance in history, but I love it for the people who live there now. People of Philadelphia have an attitude and persona unlike anywhere I have ever been. Everyone has a sense of pride for their city. The Rocky movies also make it awesome!

I LOVE ATLANTA!!! It has the best weather in the spring, fall and summer. I love hot hot weather, and I’m so glad to live where it regularly gets 95 degrees + during the hottest three months of the summer. To me, summer starts around mid-April here and lasts until the first week of October. Perfect for someone like me!

Oh, and we have lots and lots of wonderful restaurants with fantastic patios to enjoy it all :)

I LOVE SAN JUAN (Puerto Rico)!!!

It’s where we went on our honeymoon, and we’ve been back to celebrate our anniversary every year since. The food is INCREDIBLE, the beaches are beautiful, and the original old city is breathtaking (think 16th-18th century architecture with Miami colors). Oh yeah, and it’s 85 degrees year-round. Paradise!
