While I don’t wear perfume (makes me sneeze!), I like scents that are invigorating, like peppermint or eucalyptus, or soothing, like vanilla. Most scented candles don’t do it for me, but every winter I look forward to putting out a Thymes Frasier Fir candle. Those are amazing!

My favorite smell is lilacs. I’ve always loved them. They are only around for a couple of weeks every spring, but my parents have probably 25 lilac bushes, so when they bloom, the whole yard smells like them & it is glorious!!

I have a go to perfume- Nina Ricci. I wear it every day and get compliments on it on the regular. I will NEVER change. Stores have stopped carrying it at my malls, but I find it when I’m out of town or order it online.
Also, my “weird” favorite smell is sharpie markers. Good thing I know it would NOT be healthy to sniff those all day long (or wear them as perfume.)

Tahitian French vanilla candles. I have a set that I got as a freshman in college. Never burned them. Just set them out and smells great. Bytheway I’m 10 years post graduating. That’s how old the candles are and still going.

My dad was a carpenter throughout my childhood so sawdust has always been a comforting smell. For better or worse it was usually accompanied by the smell of his having worked hard all day. To this day I am still fondly reminded of my dad whenever I pass a particularly ripe homeless man.

I absolutely love the smell of hardware stores. My favorites are the local Lowe’s and this old plumbing shop I used to visit with my dad. I think it’s closed now, but man I could have sniffed that place forever :)
