I love the smell of gas & grass! I’m sure it stems from enjoying the security of being a kid at home with a happy & handy Dad mowing the lawn – but now that I’m adult – the smell of fresh cut grass makes me think of “time away from work” and the smell of gas makes me think of our hobbies – fixing & driving 1970’s BMWs! :) (These tools would be a great addition to our garage!)

I like the smell of horse barns – which mostly means the smell of horse crap! It’s not pleasant, exactly, but it’s very nostalgic for me. I grew up horse-crazy, but rarely got a chance to ride. The few times I did get to, the smell must have made an impression. A whiff of eau de barnyard still makes me smile and look around for large, four-hooved friends.

My favorite smell is summer rain! There is nothing better than cuddling up in a blanket on my parents screen porch and watching a thunder storm. My grandmother started the tradition with me when I was little (she didn’t want me to be afraid of thunder and lightening so she made it a game), my Dad and I have continued the tradition into my adulthood (he likes to try and catch photos of the lightening), and now it’s something I can share with my boyfriend.
No matter where I am the smell of summer rain makes me feel calmer and happy :)
