Fab Freebie: Bestå Friends

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

And our lucky-slash-friendly winner this week is… Jennifer M (whose best friend is her husband. They met in college studying architecture together and now work together). Congrats!

If you saw that title above and thought “oh, like the Bestå media storage system from Ikea” instead of “typo alert!” then you may be just as into the fine purveyor of flat-packaged Swedish furniture as we are. And if you’re not the only Ikea lover in your circle of friends, then you’ll be happy to learn that this Saturday on March 9th Ikea is celebrating BYOF (Bring Your Own Friend) day as part of their ongoing Life Improvement Project. The day will feature freebies, special discounts, seminars, activities, and even gift card giveaways. Speaking of which… they’re giving one lucky reader three $100 gift cards right here this week (one for the winner and two for his or her friends) – which I’m pretty sure would solidify your status as BFFs for life.

IKEA BYOF Giveaway

  • PRIZE: Three $100 gift cards to Ikea
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BYOF ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … about your BFF. How did you meet? How long have you been besties. What’s the weirdest thing you love doing together? Do you have funny nicknames for each other – or a secret handshake that involves winking and doing the Macarena?
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 6th at 8pm or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Ikea.

My BFF and I met in 6th grade over a note – she was the new girl to our school and I had just went through the same “new kid stuff” in 5th grade. I wrote her a new asking her if she wanted to be friends. Instant best friends! She still has the note :)

I have known my best friend for 53 years, since I was born actually. She is the best big sister in the world and I can honestly say we have never been in a fight. People don’t believe me when I say that but it’s the truth. I love to travel to Ikea with BONES (that is her knickname) because it usually turns into an adventure since it is out of state. Did I really just admit that I am 53 years old? Good grief I really am losing it!

We’ve been friends for 20 years now and I’m Matron of Honor in her wedding this month!!! Aaaaaaand we love shopping at Ikea and reading YHL everyday! :)

My best friend and I met through church several years ago. At first, I thought she was a little insufferable and totally flaky. But I gave it time, and she has turned out to be the biggest blessing in my life! We like to cook and craft together, and we call each other “Biff”. This is a terrific giveaway!

The weirdest thing we do together is sit on my couch in silence and sometimes watch Glee. It’s funny how a true friendship doesn’t require conversation! I call her MT and she calls me EmmBee!

I have a few people that I consider best friends, but the one I call my BFF I met at band camp freshman year, we ended up signed up for the same cabin, I was a little in-your-face which normally she shies away from, but for some reason, with us, it worked! We are still BFFs 16 years later!
My other friend I consider a best friend and I have been friends since 7th grade, we met through my twin sister (they had a class together), and we both signed up and went through high school as cheerleaders together.
My twin sister and I are the closest, in fact probably closer than any other person in the world, I’d probably die if she moved far away from me (right now she lives a block and a half from me).. then I’d have to up and move my family to follow her! It also helps my hubby is BFFs with her hubby! We see each other at least 4 times a week!
My husband and I are best friends, as corny as that may sound, we tell each other everything.
What can I say? I’m a blessed gal to have so many so close to me.

My most bestest friend is Angela. We met when we were 9 & lived down the street from one another. Now, at age 35, we still live in the same neighborhood with kiddos of our own who are also bestest friends. We can still laugh like craze over the most inappropriate things & we still make time for each other despite the mommy craziness of our current lives.

BYOF ME! My BFF and I met when she bought something from me on Craigslist. We met at a Starbucks and talked for two and a half hours! Our guilty pleasure is the chips and queso at this one local Mexican joint; it’s embarrassing how much of that stuff the two of us can consume. If I had a dime for every tear of laughter we have shed together, *I* would be giving out prizes to the WORLD!

My BFF and I met when we were 3 (we’re pretty sure we met before this but that’s our first documented photo together) and have been best friends literally ever since! I’m an only child and she’s one of 5 so all of her siblings adopted me as the 6th. Her dad even walked me down the aisle at my wedding! And I’m so excited to be her Matron of Honor in July – this would be an awesome pre-wedding present!
