Fab Freebie: Bestå Friends

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

And our lucky-slash-friendly winner this week is… Jennifer M (whose best friend is her husband. They met in college studying architecture together and now work together). Congrats!

If you saw that title above and thought “oh, like the Bestå media storage system from Ikea” instead of “typo alert!” then you may be just as into the fine purveyor of flat-packaged Swedish furniture as we are. And if you’re not the only Ikea lover in your circle of friends, then you’ll be happy to learn that this Saturday on March 9th Ikea is celebrating BYOF (Bring Your Own Friend) day as part of their ongoing Life Improvement Project. The day will feature freebies, special discounts, seminars, activities, and even gift card giveaways. Speaking of which… they’re giving one lucky reader three $100 gift cards right here this week (one for the winner and two for his or her friends) – which I’m pretty sure would solidify your status as BFFs for life.

IKEA BYOF Giveaway

  • PRIZE: Three $100 gift cards to Ikea
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BYOF ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … about your BFF. How did you meet? How long have you been besties. What’s the weirdest thing you love doing together? Do you have funny nicknames for each other – or a secret handshake that involves winking and doing the Macarena?
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 6th at 8pm or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Ikea.

I have known my best friend for over 40 years. (Yikes! We can’t be THAT old…)
The good and the bad are shared ; she tells me the truth whether I want it or not. Usually I want it, unless I know I’m wrong. ;)

I met my BFF through another friend at the time then we became roommates, then I moved across the country, then she moved across the world to China. Now we are back across the country from each other and wish we could get together more often.

I know which BFFs totally deserve something like this for being such amazing friends!
My best bud and I met in 6th grade when she was the new girl at our small middle school, and despite knowing me through my awkward days (wait- I’m still awkward, oh well!), she’s been there for me through so much in the past… 17 or so years- gah, we’re getting so old! Anyway, I would love to gift her with something like this!

I met my other best friend in HS, and I know he could use something like this since he’s planning a move this summer, and there’s an ikea nearby!

By the way, thanks for having a contest like this! <3

Me and my bestie met while going to college for massage therapy. The weirdest thing we do is trade massages. They end up being almost 2 hour massages of “This is going to hurt. How’d your body get to be such a mess” with a lot of laughter thrown in!

I met my BFF sophomore year of high school and we’ve been friends 7 years. It’s not really weird, but it’s kinda crazy that almost everytime we hang out we got to target.
Depending on the week it can be once, or even three/four times.

Lisa and I met while our families were stationed in Germany. She was my neighbor. We were inseparable until I moved to NC and she moved to NV a year later. We still keep in touch on Facebook and by phone. :)

We don’t have a secret handshake or anything, but I did write a small Lisa Dictionary for people who claim they can’t understand her “Southern words”.

As cheesy as it sounds, now that I’ve grown into adulthood, my two sisters are my best friends. They are the constant in my life. So met at eachother’s respective births! Ha! And I have had weird pet names for them for as long as I can remember, Liv if “Livermush” – not endearing I know, and Meg is “Meg-a-Roonie” of “Runiferd.”
