I would consider to have many best friends, but one of my oldest, non-related ones would have to be my girlfriend, Lisa! We met in grade school and she is one of those people that you could go months without speaking to, but every time you talk or see one another, it as if you didn’t spend one day apart. We always seem to be able to just pick up where we left off which is great when we live such chaotic lives!

I met my best friend, Cara, a little over 10 years ago. Our husbands were both stationed on the same Nuclear Submarine. While they were out to sea, she and I happened to volunteer at the same place. We realized our hometowns were pretty close to each other; although, she is from Canada, so I make fun of her relentlessly for that! We had so much in common and really bonded and relied on each other during those early years of our marriages while our husbands were out to sea so much. We have stayed super close even though we have had a combined total of 5 moves and 5 kids between us! We have weekly phone dates and try to get together as often as possible.
