Fab Freebie: Bestå Friends

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

And our lucky-slash-friendly winner this week is… Jennifer M (whose best friend is her husband. They met in college studying architecture together and now work together). Congrats!

If you saw that title above and thought “oh, like the Bestå media storage system from Ikea” instead of “typo alert!” then you may be just as into the fine purveyor of flat-packaged Swedish furniture as we are. And if you’re not the only Ikea lover in your circle of friends, then you’ll be happy to learn that this Saturday on March 9th Ikea is celebrating BYOF (Bring Your Own Friend) day as part of their ongoing Life Improvement Project. The day will feature freebies, special discounts, seminars, activities, and even gift card giveaways. Speaking of which… they’re giving one lucky reader three $100 gift cards right here this week (one for the winner and two for his or her friends) – which I’m pretty sure would solidify your status as BFFs for life.

IKEA BYOF Giveaway

  • PRIZE: Three $100 gift cards to Ikea
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BYOF ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … about your BFF. How did you meet? How long have you been besties. What’s the weirdest thing you love doing together? Do you have funny nicknames for each other – or a secret handshake that involves winking and doing the Macarena?
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 6th at 8pm or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Ikea.

BYOF ME!! My bestie is a newbie in my life. We met at church about a year and a half ago. We enjoy Pinterest, YHL, Ikea and the mysteries of the universe. We recently decided to begin a ‘Finer Things Club’ in honor of the office. First book on the docket is ‘Anne of Green Gables.’ And even more recently hosted a Pinterest Party where we stopped pinning and got down to doing. We usually try to get together one night of the week for craft, sewing, DIY time. we intend on adding audiobooks while we are getting all our projects done. you know mukti task it. She is a pretty sweet bestie.

I met my very first best friend in Kindergarten and we’ve been friends ever since! Even after she moved to GA, we keep in contact and even if it’s been weeks since we last talked and 6 years since we’ve seen each other face to face, it still feels like we just saw each other yesterday.

My bestie is my husband. We’re an old married couple at two and a half years, but we still love hanging out together, speaking in weird, random accents and just being goofy on a regular basis. There’s no one I’d rather share my life with. :)

We became BEST friends one winter when we made soap and bath salts together for family Christmas gifts. We’ve each moved around the country and back again, but still remain close. I love that girl!

It is so hard to choose. I have been blessed with MANY best friends. My mom. My two besties from Elementary school on. My high school and college besties. My amazing husband, who really is my BEST friend. There is a real abundance of great friends in my life. Today, though, I would say that those two lovely girls from Elementary years have probably been the greatest strength to me in times of need, and I love that we’ve been able to remain close after all these years.

My best friend is my husband. We met in college through mutual friends. We got married 7 years later. We just bought our first house last year and we are enjoying the journey of decorating (and surviving) on a budget together. I know that I’m rubbing off when he brings home a picture frame from work that someone was planning on throwing away. Mr. Thrifty!

My BFF is my husband. We started dating in high school, married our second yr of college. We have tons of fun and as many nicknames for each other. Most frequently, I am the ‘gumbo’ to his ‘pokey’. Nothing creepy there, really. And I used to get the words Gumby and gumbo mixed up, which is a terrifyingly common issue for my brain!
