Fab Freebie: Behr With Me

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

This week’s freebie’s gonna be a colorful one. 3,700 colors to be exact, because it comes from the fine people at Behr paint. And we’ll have not one, not two, but three winners who will each get a free gallon of Behr paint along with a complimentary Behr paint fan deck. How’s that for kick starting a few of your spring makeover projects?

We all know that the hardest part of transforming a room with paint is painstakingly picking the perfect color. But Behr has gone and made it easier thanks to their new Paint Your Place tool. This free, online resource lets you virtually paint your very own rooms with a few clicks of the mouse (it’s a great way to waste an entire afternoon). For instance, we uploaded a picture of our third bedroom to see if a bright color might work when it eventually (key word) becomes a nursery (in a looong time, no baby rumors please). What do you think of Thermal Spring? Sherry thinks it makes the small room look like a little jewel box.

We were really impressed by how the program smoothly integrated the existing shadows and sun spots in the photo that we uploaded, giving the room a pretty realistic look (all without having to pick up a paint brush). Plus, with the color selector tool it was really easy to adjust the color, no matter if we decided it needed to be lighter, darker or even more green.

So if you wanna win one of these free gallons of paint, just leave a comment on this post with the words “BEHR WITH ME” by Wednesday, April 1st at 8pm EST. While you’re at it, we’d love to know if there’s a room in your home that you’ve been planning to repaint (and what color you might be considering). This contest is open to residents of the US and Canada and as usual only one entry per e-mail address is permitted. Good luck…

BEHR with me! Wow! I cant believe how much we are on the same page! We live in a 50s brick ranch and we want to repaint our third bedroom. Right now it is what I call a non-color. Sort of a greyish, bluish, greenish beige. Really weird. We want to repaint it something that will flow with the rest of the house (trying to follow your advice about not having too many colors in the house). We are thinking a spring green or sunny yellow to pick up the colors in the front of the house. Especially since the room is on the darker back side. I would love some paint help from Behr!

BEHR WITH ME! My three year old daughter wants her room painted pink and purple with sparkles. Her birthday is coming up and I would like to surprise her and give her a girly room. I would love to do a dark purple on the bottom and light purple on the top. She will be so excited to see her room painted!

BEHR WITH ME!!!! I am DYING to re-paint just about ALL of the rooms in my house and have found Behr Paint to be my absolute FAV (after MANY trys with Bejamin Moore, Pratt & Lambert, and the BM Aura – $60/gallon!!!!!!)
The Young House Love website has given me an appreciation for “normal” colors. Upon moving into my house I quickly took my neutral home and made it look like Salmya Hayek did in Fools Rush In – needless to say it’s CRAZY with colors and I am looking to tone them down – I’m thinking Chocolate Froth, Rhino, and Gobi Desert (all Behr – all at Home Depot!) Thanks for this site!!! I’ve gotten some brilliant ideas here!!!

BEHR with me! We just moved into our house and have lots of painting to do eventually! All the walls are a neutral color so I want to liven things up a bit. I am thinking of painting my kitchen a lime green! But I am not 100% sure just yet! Might be a little bold!

I really like how that paint color would look in your guest room!

Our guest room/study is so…blah. My husband and I couldn’t decide on a color (30+ minutes staring at swatches in Walmart) so I finally just said “FINE, THIS ONE” and grabbed a random blue one. Now, our guest room/study looks like a baby boy’s room :/ We’re love to paint it a soothing gray/blue color or maybe even a chocolatey brown! So sophisticated :)

Just bought a house. Picked and LOVE the paint colors, and then two months later, bought a new couch. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look as good with the living room color as our old couch did. Long story short: that free paint could be the straw that breaks my very stubborn husband’s back in his firm stand against re-painting just five months later. Fingers crossed!

Winning this free paint would really kick my butt into gear for helping to revamp my parent’s kitchen/living room/main floor. The house needs an interior face lift and paint would certainly do the trick. I’ve been thinking about a sage green or calming blue/gray.

BEHR WITH ME. I am actually building a house right now, so somewhat of a different scenario.. but many, many color decisions to make right now! A color wheel would be so fabulous. It can be very overwhelming to pick a whole house of colors at once! Although I feel for all the renovators too :)

BEHR WITH ME! I have been using the Paint My Space tool for a few weeks now trying to decide which shade of red to paint the wall that unifies our living room/dining room space. There’s a yellow sandstone fireplace and light oak French doors to our sunroom on the wall- red seems like an okay choice, but I’m wondering if we should pick another. The house is a blank slate… all walls are white and we haven’t moved in yet. Our furniture is a light cream color- similar to the shade you’ve painted your living room. ANYWAY. Red or…?

My house is hauntingly similar to your BEFORE Ranch style. Infact the “family room” is identical. So please “Behr with me” while I try to explain to my husband that wood panel is the devils work. Lets paint that brick fireplace baby!!!! Leg kicks for white wash (and husbands who don’t fear change!)

BEHR WITH ME. The next room on my painting list is our dining room/living room. I’d like to paint it Silver Screen and add a pop of color to the back of our built-ins with Aqua Spray, the color of our kitchen. After this project it will be time to tackle the hallway and stairwell.

In January we moved into a house where almost every wall was painted BRIGHT canary/highlighter yellow…we got rid of most of the yellow right away but ran out of steam with two rooms left. I think some free paint might be just what we need to get rid of that last little bit of yellow!
