Fab Freebie: Be Jeweled

***This giveaway has reached is now closed – see who won below!***

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! And an especially happy one to our randomly selected, lucky winner who goes by the name of… Oona (who will likely celebrate tonight with dinner at “a lovely vegan restaurant”). Congrats Oona!

We love celebrating Valentine’s Day with you guys by giving away some free jewelry, and this year Sherry’s especially stoked because the prize is coming from none other than Kendra Scott – one of her favorite places to request that I buy her earrings for various occasions (like the past two Christmases). Kendra Scott has definitely earned me a few husband points, so this (are you ready for it?) $500 gift card means that someone else out there can score major points from the one they love – or one lucky winner can grab her own jewels for herself. And probably have money leftover to share the wealth with a few friends or relatives. Oh and if you fancy yourself a Kendra Scott in the making, you can even use their Color Bar to customize several of their pieces. So yeah, Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Kendra Scott Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Kendra Scott
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “JEWEL ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …how you plan to celebrate (or not celebrate) Valentine’s Day this year. Is there a special date night in your future? Are you sending your kids off with backpacks filled with cards for classmates? Or are you just gonna treat it like any other Thursday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway ships worldwide. Woot!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Kendra Scott.

    Jewel Me!!

Sadly, my hubby and I will not be able to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year. He’s swamped at work and I have pneumonia (yuck!). I may have to make him his favorite chocolate cake once I’m feeling better as a delayed Vday gift. Last year, I made him a cake and gave him a balloon for each year we’ve been together with a card tied to it with my favorite memory of that year :)

Hope you guys get to celebrate!

JEWEL ME! I’m pregnant with our first little one and I was due last Tuesday, the 5th, so I’m hoping that he’ll decide he’s ready to come out and meet us any day now and that we’ll be spending Valentine’s Day in the hospital. I had some other plans but our stubborn little guy looks like he’s going to derail those!

My hubby and I like to celebrate Valentine’s day a week late. We used to have a long distance relationship during college so we would only see each other during the break in February (which was always after Valentine’s). So, as part of our tradition, we keep celebrating a week (sometimes 2) later. It’s also great for the purse strings because everything is 50% off the week after Valentine’s Day. I’m like you guys when it comes to my dolla, dolla bills.

JEWEL ME!! We’re not too big on Valentine’s Day celebrations, so instead of faking it this year or getting flowers/dinner…we’re “adopting” two penguins from SANCCOB in our names. :) http://www.sanccob.co.za/

My husband and I work opposite shifts so he’s asleep when I get home from work and I’m at work when he gets home. We communicate through a lot of little handwritten notes, so for V-day I’m planning to leave little love notes around the house for him to find.

My husband & I typically don’t do much fuss on Valentine’s Day. This year the plan is to go to dinner, but that’s it. We tend to celebrate the non-traditional days like the anniversary of our first date (10 years ago in June!) instead of Valentine’s Day. It makes it more fum & keeps the spark alive!

Since VD comes right before our child’s first Father/Daughter Dance and smack in the middle of Chinese New Year, we are combining and having dinner at a local “nice Chinese restaurant. I mean Nice as in it’s not a take out place. and flowers will be given to our daughter on Friday as a coursage :) She has a party in school on Thursday and we are invited to participate as well, so it will be fun day for all of us. Thanks for the contest!
