Fab Freebie: Be Jeweled

***This giveaway has reached is now closed – see who won below!***

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! And an especially happy one to our randomly selected, lucky winner who goes by the name of… Oona (who will likely celebrate tonight with dinner at “a lovely vegan restaurant”). Congrats Oona!

We love celebrating Valentine’s Day with you guys by giving away some free jewelry, and this year Sherry’s especially stoked because the prize is coming from none other than Kendra Scott – one of her favorite places to request that I buy her earrings for various occasions (like the past two Christmases). Kendra Scott has definitely earned me a few husband points, so this (are you ready for it?) $500 gift card means that someone else out there can score major points from the one they love – or one lucky winner can grab her own jewels for herself. And probably have money leftover to share the wealth with a few friends or relatives. Oh and if you fancy yourself a Kendra Scott in the making, you can even use their Color Bar to customize several of their pieces. So yeah, Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

Kendra Scott Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Kendra Scott
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “JEWEL ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …how you plan to celebrate (or not celebrate) Valentine’s Day this year. Is there a special date night in your future? Are you sending your kids off with backpacks filled with cards for classmates? Or are you just gonna treat it like any other Thursday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway ships worldwide. Woot!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

JEWEL ME! It will probably be a typical Thursday for us, but there are tentative plans for a fun museum visit and lunch date on Saturday!

JEWEL ME! My kids celebrated Valentine’s early – today! Theres no school starting tomorrow till next week. The kids will be with us all day on Valentine’s day so we’ll take them out for Sushi and maybe make some valentine day’s dessert or something. We tend not to go all out for Valentine’s – usually make cookies, make valentine cards, etc.

JEWEL ME! I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day … my birthday is the 15th & VDay always steaks my thunder — by making it hard to get dinner reservations!

Jewel me! When my husband and I first met, we were both working at a non-profit and didn’t make much money. So our first Valentine’s Day was spent ordering Chinese delivery. It has become our tradition (11 years this year!) to order Chinese food every Feb. 14.

Instead of giving each other cards and gifts, this year we’re spreading the love. My two-year-old son and I made lots of different cards for grandparents and other loved ones. We also decorated red paper bags and are making sugar cookies and chocolate cupcakes with raspberries inside. We’ll deliver the goodies on Thursday.

I’ve been thinking hard about what sort of Valentine’s Day tradition I want to start for my son this year. He’s 1 1/2. My Dad always gave my sisters and I a card every year, and it was always very special to all of us (and still is). I think I’ll probably make him a card, and maybe some heart shaped pancakes for breakfast. His “school” will have a party, and I think we’ll send cards for all his classmates.

We don’t do anything real special on Valentine’s, except this year I added a few red accessories around the house. Basically, we use it as an excuse to buy chocolate for each other and our son.
