I protest Valentine’s Day because I think it’s another holiday that creates unnecessary pressure for people more than it brings happiness. But, this is our first Valentine’s Day as parents, so I allowed that we could use the holiday as an excuse to gift each other something special that the other wasn’t expecting (as long as we did it on any day EXCEPT Thursday! Hah!). I made my husband crepes with the most decadent recipe I could find (cream+butter=WIN). And my gift is still unknown! He’s said he’ll give it to me Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday, but won’t tell me which. It’s all very exciting. =D

My anniversary with my husband is today, so we celebrated tonight at a “fancy” dinner- and it completely works out, since everyone is holding off on the big date until Thursday! The restaurant was almost empty- perfect. So that was our date night and on Thursday we’re off to the mountains of NC for a little date weekend in a cabin to cuddle by the fire.
