My 2.5 year old and husband will be back from a month long trip on Valentine’s day. I am impatiently waiting to see them after what feels like forever, and celebrate at home with some candles, soft music and lots of hugs, cuddle and kisses. Also, our family is growing and this will be the first Valentine for what I think will be our complete little family.

JEWEL ME…we are celebrating by taking our annual President’s Day weekend vacation to Naples, FL. I’ll be on a plane with my easy breezy 9 year old, my anything-but-easy 20 month old and my (more than likely) very harassed husband. I am excited to spend this Valentine’s Day with my 3 greatest earthly loves (handsome hubby and 2 sweet kiddos). We have been making Valentine’s crafts decorating for a week. I am thinking heart-shaped pizza and whatever yummy dessert my little chef-in-the making and I come up with. Oh and heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast of course with strawberries! I can’t wait!!!

My husband and I are actually planning to go out, but we are keeping it low key, probably just a drink and tapas at a local jazz bar. Thurs. is actually the 1st anniversary of my dad’s passing after suffering from a long illness (my nephew said, “Grandpa was such a romantic, he just had to go on Valentine’s Day!” – true, my dad was a super romantic) so it is obviously a very bittersweet day. BUT my husband is amazing – my dad loved him so much and it was NOT easy for a man to earn his approval -so I am also grateful to celebrate our love.
