Fab Freebie: Bamboo-tiful

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Who knew bamboo could be so beautiful? Well actually, the people behind Smock Paper did. They also know that bamboo is one of the most earth-friendly sources of paper out there. By relying on it, along with other recycled materials, and by incorporating other green practices into their shop, Smock Paper is truly a wonderfully sustainable operational located right here in the good ol’ US of A. Oh, and of course they make very pretty things.

Smock Cards

You may have already heard of Smock Paper from our monthly sponsor shout outs, and if so you probably remember them for their stunning letterpress greeting cards, party and wedding invites, and the like. Well they’re here this week to give one of you a sweet $100 shopping spree while introducing some new products to amp up your note-taking, gift-giving, and memo-jotting adventures.

Smock Jotters

Just like all of their other products, these colorful items come with an eco-tastic spin. Like the memo pad above whose letterpressed bamboo cover protects 90 sheets of 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Or the cube of 700 sticky notes below that also comes from recycled paper.

Smock Memos

While those items could dress up your office nicely, they’ve also got graphic beauties like double-sided wrapping paper, gift bags and even gift boxes that all boast punchy designs on recycled materials that would certainly dress up your next gift or look great in your home office.

Smock Boxes

Now let’s get on to how you can enter to win:

  • PRIZE: $100 towards anything on Smock Paper’s website
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BAMBOO ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since Smock makes items to help you keep notes, why not share your current note-keeping habit with us. Do you keep a pad on your desk to jot down phone numbers or random thoughts? Do you keep some scrap paper in your purse just in case? Or are you high tech and rely on a voice recorder or phone app to help you remember stuff?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 1st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States AND Canada!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

    BAMBOO ME!

I write all mine on scraps from work and then shove them in my purse only to be seen months later when I have to clean my purse out.

BAMBOO ME! Smock’s stationery is just so lovely!

Although my husband has been downloading multiple iphone apps for me to use, i’m a natural born list maker the old fashioned way, with paper and a sharpie, preferably.
I have a desk calendar and still take a paper list to the grocery store with me and keep the week’s menu on the fridge. I try to use scrap paper whenever I can, but the idea of having some cute Smock goods to jot down all those things makes me giddy!

BAMBOO ME!! I write notes all over, including in google calendar tasks list, my day planner, on sticky notes in my day planner, on the backs of envelopes and receipts, and on the magnetic note pad on our fridge. Despite this quintuple-check system, I have still been known to forget some things on my lists!

BAMBOO ME! I have a Moleskine pocket notebook in my bag that I use to jot down notes and lists (including my weekly groceries). On my desk at work, I use the backs of junk faxes that come through to scribble notes or feedback or random other things that I get from all my client phone calls. That sheet of paper is always here by my phone so that I’m not scrambling for pieces of note paper or sticky notes when a phone call comes in.

At work I have sticky notes all over my office. I can’t help it. I’ve tried to stop, but I can’t.

At home I use an iphone app called Paperless. I love it…it helps me stay organized (I’m definitely a list-maker!) and cuts down on our paper usage.

I just almost typed bamboozle me, which has such a different meaning :-)

Anyways, I have one of those post-it note dispensers on my desk so I write all my notes on post its. It’s great until I have to try to make sense of all the random notes stuck ALL OVER my office. Or if I have to find 1 note in particular among the identical masses. I could definitely use a different system.

At work, I have a bin of brite colored scrap-cardstock that gets the job done. At home, I have a notepad on the fridge for groceries and such. On the go though….usually the backs of receipts, and then those pile up like you wouldn’t believe. Sigh.

i keep my lists in an august-to-august calendar – i’m a bit old school in that way, but i can keep many different lists of short term stuff (groceries) and longer term stuff (like stuff i want to do the following summer). it totally works to keep my ideas straight and follow-up-able!

I am a lister through and through, but I’ve given up the paper lists and notes recently and gone digital. I rely heavily on iGoogle’s “To Do List” and “Sticky Note” gadgets for all of my listing needs. And they’re accessible on my iPhone, so I’m never far from anything I need! Gotta love reducing all the purse clutter! Plus, I have my calendar in iGoogle too, so it makes for a beloved organizational hub. I think I might be in love :)

I have a few different note-taking strategies. I keep a very sad and wrinkly looking mini-notepad in my purse at all times, which also holds my to-do lists, grocery lists, and so on. For “urgent” notes, I leave myself post-its in places that I’ll definitely see.

I’m such a scatter brain when it comes to notes…I put them on any piece of scrap paper, memo board, or notepad that I see. Whatever is closest and most convenient gets my note! I do generally remember where I wrote it down though, so that’s at least a plus. I don’t lose them!

I’m a compulsive note taker! I wish I could stick to using one pad to scribble on for my personal notes, like I do at work (because there I FILL entire notebooks), but I have a tendency to scribble everywhere…on post-its, pads, receipts, printer paper, mail envelopes, etc etc… anywhere any time! Ironically, the one place I NEVER take notes is on my iphone, too tedious, plus I like to WRITE! ;)
