Fab Freebie: Bamboo-tiful

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Who knew bamboo could be so beautiful? Well actually, the people behind Smock Paper did. They also know that bamboo is one of the most earth-friendly sources of paper out there. By relying on it, along with other recycled materials, and by incorporating other green practices into their shop, Smock Paper is truly a wonderfully sustainable operational located right here in the good ol’ US of A. Oh, and of course they make very pretty things.

Smock Cards

You may have already heard of Smock Paper from our monthly sponsor shout outs, and if so you probably remember them for their stunning letterpress greeting cards, party and wedding invites, and the like. Well they’re here this week to give one of you a sweet $100 shopping spree while introducing some new products to amp up your note-taking, gift-giving, and memo-jotting adventures.

Smock Jotters

Just like all of their other products, these colorful items come with an eco-tastic spin. Like the memo pad above whose letterpressed bamboo cover protects 90 sheets of 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Or the cube of 700 sticky notes below that also comes from recycled paper.

Smock Memos

While those items could dress up your office nicely, they’ve also got graphic beauties like double-sided wrapping paper, gift bags and even gift boxes that all boast punchy designs on recycled materials that would certainly dress up your next gift or look great in your home office.

Smock Boxes

Now let’s get on to how you can enter to win:

  • PRIZE: $100 towards anything on Smock Paper’s website
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BAMBOO ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since Smock makes items to help you keep notes, why not share your current note-keeping habit with us. Do you keep a pad on your desk to jot down phone numbers or random thoughts? Do you keep some scrap paper in your purse just in case? Or are you high tech and rely on a voice recorder or phone app to help you remember stuff?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 1st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States AND Canada!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

I have random scraps of paper in my purse and I use my notebook on my iphone often. Taking pictures, with my iphone is also a must!

I just use plain ol’ canary yellow post-its at work. At home, things are jotted on whatever I can find which usually ends up being junk mail or something. And I wonder why I throw away notes so often.

I’m a little OCD and I keep a notebook for different things: one for grocery lists, one for projects around the house, one for my to-do list, one for misc. Crazy? Yes :)

I keep notes on squares of recycled paper from rescued work printer paper. Then, every once and a while I try to mash them into one list of actual tasks. As I write this it occurs to me ther may be a better way… :-)

I have post-its stuck all around my desk at work. If I’m out, I put it in my Blackberry. And I keep notepads in my kitchen and home office. Hmm… maybe I need more organization.

At work, I have to print a lot to review things. So, I keep my to-do lists on the backs of the printed pages once I’m done using them. It makes me feel like I’m getting more use out of the papers before I shred them!

I am a sticky note junky. I actually have to keep them away from my workspace and just keep my trusty Molskine next to me. Otherwise notes and important info go on the sticky notes and then they end up getting lost.

I jot down notes all day long at work just on scrap paper and Post-Its. Sometimes I’ll look at them a few days later and have no idea why I wrote down what I did but oh well! Usually, they are extremely helpful. I also can’t go to the store without a list.

I cut pieces of used paper into quarters and keep a stack by my phone at work. At home, I’ve received stacks of grocery store lists over the years, so I keep one in a junk drawer or basket in the kitchen, living room, bedroom and home office in case scrap paper is needed.

I’m a big believer in the Household Binder system…so most of my notes are in my binder for easy access at home and out about. However, when I am leaving a note for my hubby-to-be, I tend to use a post-it note on the computer (the one place I can guarantee he will check!).

I keep about five notepads at my desk, one in my purse, and a little notebook to write all my random lists and thoughts down. I would be an even bigger mess if I didn’t jot down notes all day of things to remember, things to do, etc. I need to figure out a way to better organize them, though, because they eventually end up in piles all over my desk.
