Fab Freebie: Bamboo-tiful

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Who knew bamboo could be so beautiful? Well actually, the people behind Smock Paper did. They also know that bamboo is one of the most earth-friendly sources of paper out there. By relying on it, along with other recycled materials, and by incorporating other green practices into their shop, Smock Paper is truly a wonderfully sustainable operational located right here in the good ol’ US of A. Oh, and of course they make very pretty things.

Smock Cards

You may have already heard of Smock Paper from our monthly sponsor shout outs, and if so you probably remember them for their stunning letterpress greeting cards, party and wedding invites, and the like. Well they’re here this week to give one of you a sweet $100 shopping spree while introducing some new products to amp up your note-taking, gift-giving, and memo-jotting adventures.

Smock Jotters

Just like all of their other products, these colorful items come with an eco-tastic spin. Like the memo pad above whose letterpressed bamboo cover protects 90 sheets of 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Or the cube of 700 sticky notes below that also comes from recycled paper.

Smock Memos

While those items could dress up your office nicely, they’ve also got graphic beauties like double-sided wrapping paper, gift bags and even gift boxes that all boast punchy designs on recycled materials that would certainly dress up your next gift or look great in your home office.

Smock Boxes

Now let’s get on to how you can enter to win:

  • PRIZE: $100 towards anything on Smock Paper’s website
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BAMBOO ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since Smock makes items to help you keep notes, why not share your current note-keeping habit with us. Do you keep a pad on your desk to jot down phone numbers or random thoughts? Do you keep some scrap paper in your purse just in case? Or are you high tech and rely on a voice recorder or phone app to help you remember stuff?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 1st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States AND Canada!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

    Bamboo Me!!

I keep all sorts of lists going around the house. Some are just on post-its or little notepads. Others are in clear sleeves so I can write on theme with dry-erase markers and change them as I need to. This is mainly for things like weekly meals and chores that need done.

    BAMBOO ME!

I can’t live without notes. Sometimes it’s post-its. Sometimes it’s the back of a cereal box (cut into squares, of course). Or the memo recorder on my iphone. But I’d love to indulge in some fresh Smock paper. What a treat! Nothing better than beautiful paper to keep your “to dos” on.

    BAMBOO ME!

I am huge on the note taking. I have a work notebook with all my todos, meeting notes, and when I was buying my place I had everything in one notebook that went with me anywhere so I always kept track of details and passing them between the bank, the lawyer, etc.

I keep a spiral notebook on my desk to jot things done and then I put the start and end date on the front when I am done and file it. It is an easy way to go back and find notes you made on something and easy to take with you somewhere if you need to.

Hey BAMBOO ME! I love your website, and I am trying to figure out how to incorporate some of your ideas into my rental house right now. A bit of a challenge… Anyway, in the note-taking realm, I have a Miquelrius notebook that has 6 sections in it (only delineated by the color on the edge of the paper) that I use for my notes and lists. Gifts in one section, to-do in another, groceries in another. It has worked for years!

I like using tech for keeping up with some things (like gift ideas–Evernote is great for that), but putting it down on paper works better for work tasks. I have at least five pads of paper on my desk right now.

Well, I have tons and tons of notes. I have several methods: First My written calendar ( Which I don’t go anywhere without). Two, My wonderful Color coded iCal on my Macbook with is also linking to my iPhone. My iPhone is also where I have some more “notes” in the little notepad. Then I have my Weekly and daily notes attached to my written calendar. And of course, I can’t do without my sticky notes just lying on my desk. I am such a note taker . For some reason I have been able to make sure I do everything on my lists.

I like to recycle all of the papers from our store & cut the letter size sheets in fourths so we can use the back as note paper. That way they get used twice (front & back) before being tossed away.

Awesome giveaway and great products! Can’t wait to learn more about this company.

when I need to take a note, I try to type it into my Blackberry or use a scrap of paper. Although, the scraps of paper often end up all over the place so the Blackberry is much much more organized….now where did I put my phone…..

    BAMBOO ME!

Since having a baby, my memory has gone a bit haywire. I started keeping some sticky notes beside my bed so when I am thinking of a million things that I am supposed to remember, I can jot them down (then I can forget them!) so I can fall asleep peacefully.

When I’m out and about, I just use what’s always available-the back of my hand! :)
