Fab Freebie: Bamboo-tiful

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Who knew bamboo could be so beautiful? Well actually, the people behind Smock Paper did. They also know that bamboo is one of the most earth-friendly sources of paper out there. By relying on it, along with other recycled materials, and by incorporating other green practices into their shop, Smock Paper is truly a wonderfully sustainable operational located right here in the good ol’ US of A. Oh, and of course they make very pretty things.

Smock Cards

You may have already heard of Smock Paper from our monthly sponsor shout outs, and if so you probably remember them for their stunning letterpress greeting cards, party and wedding invites, and the like. Well they’re here this week to give one of you a sweet $100 shopping spree while introducing some new products to amp up your note-taking, gift-giving, and memo-jotting adventures.

Smock Jotters

Just like all of their other products, these colorful items come with an eco-tastic spin. Like the memo pad above whose letterpressed bamboo cover protects 90 sheets of 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Or the cube of 700 sticky notes below that also comes from recycled paper.

Smock Memos

While those items could dress up your office nicely, they’ve also got graphic beauties like double-sided wrapping paper, gift bags and even gift boxes that all boast punchy designs on recycled materials that would certainly dress up your next gift or look great in your home office.

Smock Boxes

Now let’s get on to how you can enter to win:

  • PRIZE: $100 towards anything on Smock Paper’s website
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BAMBOO ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since Smock makes items to help you keep notes, why not share your current note-keeping habit with us. Do you keep a pad on your desk to jot down phone numbers or random thoughts? Do you keep some scrap paper in your purse just in case? Or are you high tech and rely on a voice recorder or phone app to help you remember stuff?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 1st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States AND Canada!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

    BAMBOO ME!

I have notebooks for to-do lists *everywhere*: One in my bedroom, on in my purse, and two that just float around my house. My hope is that by writing things down three or four times, I’ll be more likely to remember them.

I love lists. Even though I’ve gotten some great iPhone apps, nothing beats pen and paper. The best part is when I get to check things off and eventually throw that paper away!

I am a big post-it list maker! I have post-its everywhere and somehow it works for me. I also keep a small notepad in my purse for on-the-go notes. I am always amazed by people who can remember everything without writing it down anywhere… like my husband!

I tend to make my own To-Do lists & Grocery Lists on the computer via Microsoft Word or Excel. I make columns to write down items I need or things I need to do, and I make another column to check it off (my FAVORITE part, if I must say)…

As a high school teacher, balancing to do lists comes with the job! I usually make a daily to do list on a post-it that gets stuck to cover of the small notebook planner I carry.

I love, love, love writing notes & making lists. My daily to-do list is on my computer which syncs with my phone. I have several post-it note pads around (about 6 on my desk at work, plus another 6 regular note pads, plus a basket of paper next to the phone for phone messages). I also keep a note pad in my purse. I can’t keep myself from buying cute new note pads whenever I see them.

Bamboo me. I have multiple note taking methods. Sometimes I email myself. I have some I write into my blackberry and others I keep in a google document so I can access from multiple locations. Others I keep as a written list (especially for errands and around the house stuff) because it’s so much more satisfying to cross something off a list than to just erase it electronically.

… lists are my guilty pleasure/habit…. I have note books to jot down long lists, and have now just started a note pad (mini pocket one) that I can bring with me so I don’t forget my ‘to dos’. Isn’t that the worst when you get out and come home and have forgotten one thing!?… Maybe its just me… ;)

Bamboo Me! I use a combination of note-taking, depending on where I am. If I’m at work and I need to remember something, I will email myself or just write myself a “note” on my blackberry. If I’m at home, I use one notepad to write everything down, from the grocery list to book titles I want to read.

At work I typically make a list on a yellow legal pad of all the things I need to accomplish. More often than not, just writing down the tasks at one time gets them in my head and I don’t usually end up referring back to it for several days.

BAMBOO ME, PLEASE! This year I am traveling to 4 different schools-I keep a 5 x 7 journal with me to jot down things to remember to do/get since I may not be back to a school for a week. It is working out really well & I love the feeling of accomplishment as I cross things off & eventually put a big X across the page when everything on it is completed!

I keep a magnetic notepad on my fridge, a small notepad on my counter, and at work I always have a to-do list to keep me on track. Nothing can replace the feeling of accomplishment when I cross out something on my list. I love lists!
