Fab Freebie: Bamboo-tiful

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Who knew bamboo could be so beautiful? Well actually, the people behind Smock Paper did. They also know that bamboo is one of the most earth-friendly sources of paper out there. By relying on it, along with other recycled materials, and by incorporating other green practices into their shop, Smock Paper is truly a wonderfully sustainable operational located right here in the good ol’ US of A. Oh, and of course they make very pretty things.

Smock Cards

You may have already heard of Smock Paper from our monthly sponsor shout outs, and if so you probably remember them for their stunning letterpress greeting cards, party and wedding invites, and the like. Well they’re here this week to give one of you a sweet $100 shopping spree while introducing some new products to amp up your note-taking, gift-giving, and memo-jotting adventures.

Smock Jotters

Just like all of their other products, these colorful items come with an eco-tastic spin. Like the memo pad above whose letterpressed bamboo cover protects 90 sheets of 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Or the cube of 700 sticky notes below that also comes from recycled paper.

Smock Memos

While those items could dress up your office nicely, they’ve also got graphic beauties like double-sided wrapping paper, gift bags and even gift boxes that all boast punchy designs on recycled materials that would certainly dress up your next gift or look great in your home office.

Smock Boxes

Now let’s get on to how you can enter to win:

  • PRIZE: $100 towards anything on Smock Paper’s website
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BAMBOO ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since Smock makes items to help you keep notes, why not share your current note-keeping habit with us. Do you keep a pad on your desk to jot down phone numbers or random thoughts? Do you keep some scrap paper in your purse just in case? Or are you high tech and rely on a voice recorder or phone app to help you remember stuff?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 1st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States AND Canada!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

    BAMBOO ME!

I am a crazy list-maker and I am always writing lists on anything I can find (envelopes, magazine, back of receipts, etc). I am also obsessed with cards of every kind. I’m always on the lookout for cute cards and I have a box full of cards for every occasion!

I take notes the old fashioned way – by hand! I also jot down lists on any scrap paper, back of receipts, ripped envelopes, etc. I am a teacher however, and am always looking for pretty papers to liven up my desk! :)

BAMBOO ME! I almost always have a notebook with me (I am definitely a Type-A list person!) but if I need to I’ll take notes on my iPhone or put my lists in a Word doc- I don’t get as much satisfaction crossing things off though when I make my lists electronically!

    BAMBOO ME!

My lists go in one of two places: day-to-day stuff goes on a mini yellow legal pad. My current legal pad has pages and pages of to-do lists! For long-term stuff like lists of things I need to do for planning our wedding or lists I needed to help me make my big move to my new house — those go in a lined journal my best friend gave me. It has a silly little chicken drawing on the front and says ‘Yoga for Chickens’ and has a pocket on the inside for receipts and things. Hard not to smile!

I keep 5 different colored post-it pads on my desk, each one for a day of the week. So, then I know what day I wrote it that week when I have to go back and revisit that thought or “to do”.

BAMBOO ME! I love bamboo products! We actually have bamboo sheets for our bed, WAY softer than any cotton product I’ve ever tried! We LOVE them!

I am a list-maker! I keep two notepads on the fridge, one is a blank note pad where we write out dinners for the week and other reminders. The second is a special grocery-list one by Real Simple. When we run out of something, just mark it on the list, then when we go to the grocery store we make sure we don’t forget anything!

I also keep a running to-do list at work… it gets longer each day even as I cross stuff off, though! :)

Since I spend way too much time on my computer, I tend to jot down notes on a sticky note program and leave them all over my desktop. Otherwise, I end up jotting them down in the margins of my research notebook, which is perhaps not the best idea…

I have a book next to my bedside when ideas pop in my head and I need to write it down before it slips away. I have scrap paper on my desk when I take phone calls. And I have lovely note cards for birthdays, thank yous, and just because(s).
