Fab Freebie: Bamboo-tiful

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Who knew bamboo could be so beautiful? Well actually, the people behind Smock Paper did. They also know that bamboo is one of the most earth-friendly sources of paper out there. By relying on it, along with other recycled materials, and by incorporating other green practices into their shop, Smock Paper is truly a wonderfully sustainable operational located right here in the good ol’ US of A. Oh, and of course they make very pretty things.

Smock Cards

You may have already heard of Smock Paper from our monthly sponsor shout outs, and if so you probably remember them for their stunning letterpress greeting cards, party and wedding invites, and the like. Well they’re here this week to give one of you a sweet $100 shopping spree while introducing some new products to amp up your note-taking, gift-giving, and memo-jotting adventures.

Smock Jotters

Just like all of their other products, these colorful items come with an eco-tastic spin. Like the memo pad above whose letterpressed bamboo cover protects 90 sheets of 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Or the cube of 700 sticky notes below that also comes from recycled paper.

Smock Memos

While those items could dress up your office nicely, they’ve also got graphic beauties like double-sided wrapping paper, gift bags and even gift boxes that all boast punchy designs on recycled materials that would certainly dress up your next gift or look great in your home office.

Smock Boxes

Now let’s get on to how you can enter to win:

  • PRIZE: $100 towards anything on Smock Paper’s website
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BAMBOO ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since Smock makes items to help you keep notes, why not share your current note-keeping habit with us. Do you keep a pad on your desk to jot down phone numbers or random thoughts? Do you keep some scrap paper in your purse just in case? Or are you high tech and rely on a voice recorder or phone app to help you remember stuff?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 1st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States AND Canada!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

I use Post-Its like they’re going out of style! I also have a color coded system using them. I must have at least (3) different colors at all times. It’s a sickness.

I have a horrible memory so I write notes on post-it’s, scraps of paper, make reminders in Outlook – you name it! But if something is REALLY important, I write a note on my left hand :)

    BAMBOO ME!

I take notes in a variety of places, depending on the type of note. Grocery lists (and other shopping lists) are in Google Tasks, for easy access on my iPhone when I’m out. Lists for my husband go on a plain notepad in the kitchen, or in an email. Magazines and books are marked up with stickies of various sizes, so they can be removed when no longer needed. Most of the time, the only paper in my purse is a sketchpad to entertain my son (2) when we’re out and about!

BAMBOO ME! I love post-it notes! Small ones for tagging pages of books/recipe magazines, big ones for taking notes, etc. I definitely also send emails to myself or use “Outlook Reminders” at work.

After having wasted a lot of paper, I decided to get a notebook and write everything in it. Best idea ever. Now if I ever need something that I wrote a couple of weeks ago, I have it written in my book.

I love to do lists…I have a master one that I have for long term projects and then I make a weekly for each week. It helps keep us organized and prevents us from getting overwhelmed. It’s can be hard when you are trying to update an older house; as I am sure you know ;)

I have a planner that I take down all my notes in and without it, I would be lost! For all the other lists I make (I’m an avid list-maker), I use boring old scrap paper at work (sheets of one-side used paper cut into 4) and usually envelopes of whatever mail came in that day at home!

I always keep a pad of paper on my bedside table or around where I’m working so I can jot down to-do lists and other reminder notes. It helps me lot more to see it there in front of me than have it on a phone or electronic device.

Sometimes I’ll send a email to myself (with it as the subject) if I have only my blackberry on me and that helps to see it in my inbox all the time!

I am a total note taker. I like the long pads of paper with magnets on the back. Those go on the fridge for the grocery list. A normal sticky pad on the entry table is my to-do list. And a white legal pad for big lists like parties I’m throwing, spring cleaning etc.
