Fab Freebie: Bamboo-tiful

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Who knew bamboo could be so beautiful? Well actually, the people behind Smock Paper did. They also know that bamboo is one of the most earth-friendly sources of paper out there. By relying on it, along with other recycled materials, and by incorporating other green practices into their shop, Smock Paper is truly a wonderfully sustainable operational located right here in the good ol’ US of A. Oh, and of course they make very pretty things.

Smock Cards

You may have already heard of Smock Paper from our monthly sponsor shout outs, and if so you probably remember them for their stunning letterpress greeting cards, party and wedding invites, and the like. Well they’re here this week to give one of you a sweet $100 shopping spree while introducing some new products to amp up your note-taking, gift-giving, and memo-jotting adventures.

Smock Jotters

Just like all of their other products, these colorful items come with an eco-tastic spin. Like the memo pad above whose letterpressed bamboo cover protects 90 sheets of 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Or the cube of 700 sticky notes below that also comes from recycled paper.

Smock Memos

While those items could dress up your office nicely, they’ve also got graphic beauties like double-sided wrapping paper, gift bags and even gift boxes that all boast punchy designs on recycled materials that would certainly dress up your next gift or look great in your home office.

Smock Boxes

Now let’s get on to how you can enter to win:

  • PRIZE: $100 towards anything on Smock Paper’s website
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BAMBOO ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since Smock makes items to help you keep notes, why not share your current note-keeping habit with us. Do you keep a pad on your desk to jot down phone numbers or random thoughts? Do you keep some scrap paper in your purse just in case? Or are you high tech and rely on a voice recorder or phone app to help you remember stuff?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 1st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States AND Canada!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

I have a 5 subject notebook at work for clients; a mini notepad at work for to do that day lists and at home i have notebooks all over for to buy/to do lists
i think i’m in list overload – its definitely time to try and simplify and maybe go electronic

I tend to keep scrap paper in my wallet, or tell my wife when we’re out and hope she remembers it since I tend to forget. :)

    BAMBOO ME!!

I am a paper and stationary addict. Seriously, I sadly love note-taking (whether for studying, work, or just random bits of day-to-day information). My good friend tells me that my “M.O.” is having a notebook and pen with me at all times. (Sadly, she’s right!) At work I try very hard to limit my post-it and legal pad usage by using up scrap paper first. Lately I have been trying to be a bit more green, and use the desktop sticky notes more often, but there is just something about old-fashioned pen-on-paper note-taking that I love.

BAMBOO ME! I have *way* to many sticky notes at my desk right now!but I love crumpling them up when complete. I’m also an obsessive list maker and always make tiny boxes before each line so I can check things off when complete!

    BAMBOO ME!

I scribble down notes on any random scrap of paper within arm’s reach and shove it in my purse. Then once a month when I clean out my purse, I find all the squished and torn notes to myself, glance them over, kick myself for forgetting all the things I jotted down, and then toss the papers in the recycling bin. Oh yes, I’m super organized. But I always remember the major things that need remembering. :)

I have a few dedicated notepads at my desk for writing notes, but I’m totally guilty of being out somewhere without a piece of paper and writing a phone number or email address on my hand, or the back of a receipt. No electronic gadgetry for me.

I got a little notebook from target that i keep all my notes/lists/ideas in…. I spent EONS standing in that aisle comparing all the different notebooks to decide exactly what would be perfect for me- found a small one with rings so it lays flat and it has a magnetic close as well so it doesnt come open in my purse. I keep a pretty pen in the rings so I’m always ready to jot stuff down, otherwise I’ll forget!!!

Unfortunately, I am a paper list junkie… consequently, I have sticky notes, torn sheets of paper, napkins, old menus – you name it! – strewn about the house filled with the junk in my head. It drives the Mr. absolutely nuts. :) Love this company! I was just on the website this morning (before the giveaway, weird!) and want to paper the back of my kitchen bookcase with that gorgeous Blossom paper!

“BAMBOO ME!” I still kick it old school…for work, I have my notebook w/ a pad of paper for my weekly to-do list. For personal stuff, I have a leather-bound journal where I can jot stuff down. It has a rubber-band type closure, so I can put my loose pieces of paper inside too, and they won’t get lost.

I have a notepad for groceries in the kitchen. I have a mini spiral notebook at work for phone messages, to-do items, and other notes. I use “Remember The Milk” embedded in Gmail to remember to pay bills, attend functions, and prod myself into going to exercise class. And finally, I have a small notebook in my purse for all the other things I need to write down to remember.
