Fab Freebie: A Simplified New Year

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down for special discount and to see who won!***

If the words “simplify,” “organize,” “declutter” or “make more time for [blank]” will be showing up on your resolution list this year, boy do we have the giveaway for you. Simplify 101 provides all sorts of fun interactive tips and online workshops to help you achieve those goals, and this week a trio of you will win TWO free workshops.

Simpify 101 Giveaway

Our three winners can choose from any of the following workshops being held early next year: “Quick + Simple Clutter Control,” “How To Achieve Your Goals And Create A Life You Love,” “Organizing 101” and “It’s About Time: How To Have More Fun and Get More Done.” Oh and all of you can get a taste of Simplify 101’s helpful advice by downloading their free “How To Create A Command Central Binder” guide. We’ve also got a special discount ready to announce on Thursday, so check back for that in a few days. But enough chatter, here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: Your choice of any two Simplify 101 workshops being held in January or February.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SIMPLIFY ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how you’re looking to simplify, organize, declutter, or streamline your life in 2011. We’d love some great ideas for our own list of 2011 resolutions.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 29th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three!
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Before we announce our trio of winner, know that Simplify 101 is offering 15% off enrollment through January 3rd, 2011 with code SAVE15YHL at checkout. (Note: the “It’s About Time” workshop is currently offered at 20% Early Bird savings, so this 15% off can’t be combined with it)

On to our winners. The lucky three entrants that random.org chose are… Sarah Thimmes (who’s looking to organize her homeschool supplies and make more time for poetry writing), Kelsey R (who wants to really use her planner all year)and Tiffany (who just gave birth to baby girl on Christmas Eve. Wow!). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Simplify 101.

My wife would tell you that we have too much of everything. I have no idea what is too much; but with a baby on the way, I’m willing to do anything to make things less stressful. Less on the floor/tables is less to worry about for us and for baby.

Simplify me :-) With a small baby (born just a few days later than Clara), I am constantly adapting our home to meet his needs. Now that he is starting to crawl and pull at things, I have to place everything higher and higher. What helps me deal with clutter is constant purging, asking for specific gifts (to avoid unwanted gifts that will just clutter our apartment and which we will never use) and also that everything has its place. And quuickly tidying up before going to bed in the evening – I love waking up to a clean and organized home :-) Oh, and I regularly put away in storage boxes clothes that our baby has outgrown – so we save space in the bedroom with only having what we really need in there.

SIMPLIFY ME! My WHOLE life needs simplification and cleaning out right now. Our home has nearly 20 years of accumulated stuff in it (although my kids did take a big box of books to the local bookstore today and got $45 worth of book credit, which is a huge help!), and I’ve been shredding old prescription paperwork and bills like crazy since we bought our new shredder. I would love to learn quick and simple decluttering techniques. And I’d love somebody to take me by the hand say, Paula, here’s what to get rid of and what to keep. ARGH! Thanks for the opportunity!!

We are having our first baby and moving within the first four months of this year- I need to get organized! One of my biggest plans to help make things go smoother is to start menu planning again. I used to do it and I loved it, so once I’m off work for the baby, I want to plan our weekly menus. It makes grocery shopping and cooking SO much easier!

I am getting married in july 2011…
I have so much clutter and junk from my teenage/dorm days and I need to organize literally everything I own. I’ve been living in Sydney, Australia (originally from Texas) for the past 7 months and have traveled a few times before i moved here, so all of my clothes are either in boxes or suitcases. It’s not a pretty sight. I also want to try and get all of my finances in order so the transition to marriage and joining everything will be easier!

Simplilfy me! My one trick is to pick up clutter as I go from room to room during my daily back and forth and up and down around the house. I don’t mean a big deal decluttering. I mean just one or two items at a time. Done daily this helps to keep the house in order. susan

This year I’m all about deciding what truly matters to me. I’m going to take a hard look at all the extra stuff, appointments, commitments and relationships in my life and determine which are truly worth keeping, and which are just a source of extra stress. Being able to minimize unnecessary attention and stress will allow me to focus more of my time on my friends and family!

I totally need to simplify and streamline. The last year of my life has been jam-packed, chaotic, and crazy busy. While I have enjoyed that, thoroughly, I would love to enjoy and relish in my journey, rather than view it atop the whirlwind. My house has suffered from my hectic routine. So now with 2011 gaining ground, my clutter is shaking in its boots!

I have never been one for sticking to my resolutions. Partially because I get sidetracked way too easily, but also because I tend to make my resolutions “change the world” size instead of “me” size. My approach this year is to set one goal. Then break that goal down into steps. I can mark off each step when I reach it and simply move to the next step, one notch closer to my goal. I believe I will be more apt to achieving my resolutions this way. This approach will keep my confidence up and put me on the road to success. Rather than just being mad at myself come May when my resolution is under that pile of winter clothes still waiting to be put away.
