Fab Freebie: A Room With The View

If any of you are addicted to The View, Thom Filicia or Kimberly-Clark products then you probably already know what I’m about to say. The three have teamed up for a Room-A-Day Giveaway where 16 lucky winners will be chosen to receive $25,000 (!!!) to transform a space in their home. They announced the first winner today on The View, but you can still enter once-a-day here until March 6th for your chance to take home the cold hard cash.

And while we can’t help you win the 25k, we do have a special prize to give away right here: a copy of Thom Filicia’s latest book, Thom Filicia Style, along an eco-friendly bag filled with a slew of Kimberly-Clark products (think Kleenex, Cottonelle, Scott, Huggies, etc).

thomfeliciastylecover

You may know Thom from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, or his current show (a Sherry favorite) Dress My Nest.

To enter to win Thom Filicia’s amazing new book and the eco-bag of Kimberly-Clark goodies, just comment on this post with the words “BOOK ME” by Wednesday, Feb 4th at 8pm EST. And while you’re at it, why not tell us what room you’d make over in your home if you won the grand prize.

We’ll announce one, randomly chosen winner by the end of the week. And don’t forget to enter to win the grand prize over at the Room-A-Day Giveaway while you’re at it. Good luck everyone!

I think I would make over my master bedroom. We have a lovely bedframe that I adore, but that’s where the love ends. Some downy pillows and bedding, and some new bureaus, would be just what the doctor ordered!

I would love to win either prize! If I won the $$ I would really love to redo our master bathroom. The house we purchased last year was built in the 70s and has a long skinny tiny bathroom with this unnessecary deep closet attached. I would like to tear it all out and make a big master bath with a separate shower and tub!

    Book me!

My next room make-over project will probably be our central staircase — it has a large, mid-flight landing that connects to my wife’s office (over our garage) and the “personal” upstairs. It’s just a huge canvas of wall right now, and with some pictures, some small furniture on the landing, and maybe an art-y piece or two on the large, vertical wall on the landing, it could really open up and “bring together” our house.

I need $25,000 for this weird room we have that really would look nice with a sectional, a rug, a media console and a TV but in actuality only has an ikea pleather chair and a wicker basket filled with toys. It’s pretty sad.

    BOOK ME!

Does it have to be an actual “room—inside the house”? If the extended “room” beyond our patio doors counts, I’d re-do my “outside room”, my patio area–for outdoor entertaining.

If I’m way off course, then I’d have to pick our living room/great room area. It’s only been 3 yrs. since we’ve built our house, but the layout of this area stumps me and it could use some re-vamping and freshening up.

Thanks for the heads-up and chance at a fun giveaway!

Because of these hard economic times, we have no choice but to move back in with my parents to get back on our feet. I would totally make over their kitchen because it’s painfully UN-user friendly and not space efficient. With 8 people living under one roof, it will definitely need some help!

Book me! I just bought a place, and it’s not very big – I could probably do more than one space. First thing would be to get rid of my dark dark brown kitchen cabinets and strange yellow laminate counter and backsplash. If there’s room left over I’d retile the bathroom floor, too!

BOOK ME! I’d make over what we call the “service porch”, inspired by a random memory from many years of watching the Brady Bunch after school on TBS. It’s actually just a den, where we spend a lot of time but haven’t spent a lot of energy decorating.

I would definitely do-over my kitchen. I think the cabinets are the originals from when our house was built in the 80s. We also have limited counter space and not enough cabinets to hold all of the many kitchen gadets we have accumulated.
