Fab Freebie: A Room With The View

If any of you are addicted to The View, Thom Filicia or Kimberly-Clark products then you probably already know what I’m about to say. The three have teamed up for a Room-A-Day Giveaway where 16 lucky winners will be chosen to receive $25,000 (!!!) to transform a space in their home. They announced the first winner today on The View, but you can still enter once-a-day here until March 6th for your chance to take home the cold hard cash.

And while we can’t help you win the 25k, we do have a special prize to give away right here: a copy of Thom Filicia’s latest book, Thom Filicia Style, along an eco-friendly bag filled with a slew of Kimberly-Clark products (think Kleenex, Cottonelle, Scott, Huggies, etc).

You may know Thom from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, or his current show (a Sherry favorite) Dress My Nest.

To enter to win Thom Filicia’s amazing new book and the eco-bag of Kimberly-Clark goodies, just comment on this post with the words “BOOK ME” by Wednesday, Feb 4th at 8pm EST. And while you’re at it, why not tell us what room you’d make over in your home if you won the grand prize.

We’ll announce one, randomly chosen winner by the end of the week. And don’t forget to enter to win the grand prize over at the Room-A-Day Giveaway while you’re at it. Good luck everyone!

New to our giveaways? Find out all about them here.

I’d make over my kitchen. It’s a galley kitchen in 1940s condo (converted from apartments in ’81…yikes). I want to get smaller appliances and possibly open it up to the L-shaped living and dining room.

I would also make over my kitchen. I’m itching to get a dishwasher (a single drawer would fit best!), redo the cabinets that are water damaged, and get a punchy backsplash to brighten up the space!

As we’re only looking for a house to buy right now, it’s impossible to say which room. But $25k is about the price of a 2-car garage that I’d very much like to have, so I’ll say that room! But in reality it will probably get spread out over the whole house as we’re looking at “fixer uppers.”

I would do my dining room, as long as I can keep the paint color! It is lime green! AND I LOVE IT!

But there is nothing in the room since I just bought the house!

The $25,000 would definitely be used for a fabulous bedroom makeover. Right now our bedroom consists of a bed with an old comforter, mismatched tables, and an elliptical machine. I’d love a swank, relaxing room to come home to every night.

Seeing as we’re 80% complete on our kitchen remodel, I’d redo our master bath and bedroom. It’s hurtin’ right now, but the kitchen and downstairs flooring (and windows, etc, etc) takes priority.

Oooo, we are currently looking at buying a house and so I would probably redo the kitchen since most of the ones I am looking at are older. All the houses we are looking at are fixer-uppers so we could probably do any room! But my husband would want the money for a garage. . .

I would renovate my basement probably. It is unfinished and I live in a small condo with my son. If finished it would create much more space for us. A laundry area, a half bath, and also room for my son to play with his friends, and I could also squeeze in a desk with the computer, so I could get it out of my bedroom. Thanks for the chance and fun.
