I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

I’m a huge fan of bold color, but probably my most ‘out there’ room is our upstairs bathroom. Hot pink gloss walls, plus blue damask wallpaper. We couldn’t afford a complete remodel in there yet, so it was a question of trying to make what was there work in the meantime.

Fab Me!!! I have a Santa picture up all year round. My Grandpa was an artist and he made it with wax crayons & construction paper for my aunt’s classroom when she was in 3rd grade (in the early 70’s). 15 years later when I was in third grade I had the same teacher who still hung the drawing every year for the holidays. Fast forward another 10 years…When I was home for the holidays from college. That teacher had recently retired and she came to our house & presented me with the drawing that she had kept and treasured all those years. I’ve since had it framed to protect it and it’s my most valued possession.

I have these amazing napkins from Anthropologie that are all sorts of bright, happy colors. I keep them out all of the time — for placemats, for runners on our coffee table, as a table centerpiece. they’re that awesome.
