You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!
I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.
- PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

FAB ME. I have a tree stump that has been with me the past four moves and I care about it as much as some of the nicer, pricier and more functional pieces inside and outside. Its not cut evenly on the top, not shellacked; it just sits outside to remind me I’m home and holds my coffee cup when I’m outside in the mornings with the dog.

FAB ME! We inherited my husband’s grandma’s salt & pper shaker collection. Sat in a box for 3 years, but some were recently liberated. Using them for pops of color in our family room.

My favorite quirky thing about my place is the framed piece of PJ pants I have hanging on my wall. I’d had them since 4th grade (14 years) and they recently ripped. Rather than getting rid of the awesome pop tart-milk-oreo-cookie print forever, I framed a little piece of them. Most people don’t get why it’s special, but I love it!

FAB ME! I guess we don’t have as much quirky fun stuff as everyone else! We do have a sketchbook of charcoal drawings my Grandma did of 1940s movie stars when she was 15, that we have dismantled and framed some of our favorites. They’re really good! Unfortunately I did not inherit her artistic abilities. :(

My favorite thing is actually an old wooden marble game that’s hung on our sitting room wall. We used to play the same game at my grandparents house when I was little so i was so exicted to find it in a junk shop. plus its painted green which matched the room. Score!

Lorelei Reed says
FAB ME! (please….it is always nice to be polite.) My favorite quirky item is a “lemon” I made into lemonade! I was trying to print a portrait of my sweet Bouvier, Delilah, on a piece of printable fabric…it did NOT work …when I peeled away the coating to reveal the picture poor Delilah came out all spotty and incomplete….what to do? Well the shape/proportions were all there so I pulled out a paintbrush and filled her all in…the result is a painting of Delilah that FAR exceeds my actual talents…she was my first dog and my treasure and since her passing I have a wonderful hand done painting to remind me every day what a blessing she was!
