You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!
I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.
- PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

FAB ME!! My kookiest piece is an EXTREMELY bright and splattery Dominican painting I was given by my aunt. It’s not something I would have purchased for myself, but it’s a beloved gift and really spices up my home.

I have a duck whistle from the Ride the Ducks in Branson, MO. It was the first vacation we ever took together so it is hanging on a hook on the wall with all of our vacation pictures since!

Since I started reading your blog a few years ago I really only had neutrals in my house and was too afraid to add color. I finally chose yellow and green as my living room accent colors because they are cheery all year round so now I have all different kids of accents in bright yellows and greens :)

My quirky thing that I LOVE is hanging in my kitchen. It’s an old German road sign that says “Guht Fahrt” on it; my Opa picked it up years ago when he lived in Germany. It used to hang in my Oma and Opa’s kitchen and used to make me laugh (a good fart joke always does). My Oma recently passed it along to me so of course I had to follow tradition and hang it in my kitchen!

just made two new dog beds for my pups from the most beautiful fabric – blue/lime green dog silhouettes on a gray background. I’m loving the punch of color in the mud room!

Almost everything in our place is thrifted or salvaged or DIY, so it’s a big ole quirkfest over here! My fave right now is a pop-art-inspired silhouette painting I did of my dog.

My fave quirky thing in my house is a deer antler from Texas that lives on my mantle with an ORK Chicago neighborhood poster, an antique black and silver lacquered tray, and four Depression-ware glass animals that were my grandmother’s.

FAB ME! I just love fab.com, so thanks for the AWESOME giveaway!
I have a quirky metal donkey painted every color of the rainbow. He is goofy, but I love him!
Anna says
FAB ME!!! A friend of mine found a creepy, hand painted Beethoven bust at a yard sale, and since I am quite the classical music snob, she picked it up for me. I admit, initially I was afraid of it – the eyes followed me around the room! But I broke out some turquoise spray paint and made him all shiny and colorful. I absolutely love him, he is my favorite piece of art, sitting right on top of my baby grand piano. :)
Ellie says
FAB ME cannot get enough colorful candle holders around our pad! But this post is making me think I need MORE color in our home – eeek!

FAB ME!!! We’ve started collecting original works by FL artists for our condo. We have an amazing oil painting in vibrant colors with musical motifs that we picked up at a street art fair. The artist was a music professor at University of Miami. I smile every time I look at it.

It’s not so weird to quirky anymore, but I have had a metal ampersand hung on my wall for the last several years. When I first hung it up, my husband hated it. But now he’s cool :)

Fab me! I love our collection of concert posters we’ve collected over the years.

My new favorite is a travel map my husband made. He took cork board, covered it in linen, added a black wooden border and then pinned a retro-ish map to the board. We have numbered thumb tacks on the cities we’ve visited together and pictures in frames under it of us in those cities.

I have a few pieces of weird blue fruit ceramic dishes that I found thrifting and I love ’em! (Inarco blue mood indigo) I like the colors and the fact that they’re a little grandma-ish. And definately quirky.

Julia says
FAB ME! I have a bright blue ombre painting on my wall that I created at the end of a sippin’ & paintin’ night with friends – after being frustrated with my inability to paint the intended piece I just went over the whole thing and covered my ugly painting with different shades of blue!

FAB ME! I have a bright orange egg chair that’s been in the family for 40 years. Luckily, the fabric blends right in with all the kid toys we have so I can put off reupholstering for a few more years but I love it just the way it is.
Valerie says
FAB ME! I actually love a wall of exposed brick we have in our house. It’s original to the 70s style of the home, but somehow still works.
Sonja C. says
FAB ME! It’s not weird or quirky to me, but I have a white ceramic deer head hanging in my dining room. Some of my family, on the other hand, thinks it’s very strange. They just don’t understand the fun that is a white (or colorful!) ceramic animal in their home. :)

I have an old bicycle wheel and tire painted bright green “hanging” around our apartment. I say that because it has yet to actually find a home on are wall as was my original intention. Definitely a “dude get on” that project.
