Fab Freebie: A Literal Fab Freebie

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!

I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.

Fab Dot Com Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fab.

Fab Me!! I luv my quirky pottery collection – some soft, unglazed vintage pieces like McCoy, USA, Hull and Roseville, some glazed Asian pieces like Foo lions/dogs and pagodas. Most have animals or nature elements. I don’t like huge collection displays, so they’re everywhere in small groupings, accenting bookcases, tables and dressers. I just discovered Fab this year and get inspired weekly! great giveaway, so thanks to them.

FAB ME!… I thrifted my couch, which has this very quirky, bright, vintage floral pattern atop a neutral background. I have a love hate relationship with it because it limits what I can do in the room so much, but it’s the most unique piece in our home.

FAB ME! I think the quirkiest and colorful things in our house are the drapes in my son’s room. I made a pacman board design (design is white on a green backdrop) into fabric from spoonflower. He has a gamer themed room. The curtains just look like patterned curtains until you really look and notice the pacman board. Love them!

I collect two main things that we seem to have busting out of the seems out of our house – anchors and lobsters, or items that have either of these on them. We have pillows, bottle openers, candle holders, stained glass decorations, coffee mugs, shirts, bags, etc.

FAB ME!!!!! My favorite decorative “thing” in my home would be the framed love letters my husband and I wrote to each other on his deployments to Afghanistan. From far away the matted letters just look like scribbles.. but they hang over out bed and remind us daily how grateful we are to have each other! MUSH!!!

    FAB ME!

we have this huge print in our living room that everybody can see, but nobody seems to notice the actual content of the print, which sort of amuses me. its this scene where a big man’s head with long hair is coming out of the ocean, big waves, etc., and he is eating a ship and the people who were on the ship. its HUGE and gorgeous and in an awesome frame, and it looks great in our house, but it is kind of scary. i just think its funny that most people sort of glance at it, but dont seem to notice what is actually happening. its this one: http://www.octopus-vs-squirrel.com/blog/2009/2/27/jordan-crane.html

I love this colorful portrait that we had in our living room. Not only is it beautiful, it is a conversation started because the portrait is of a real life work of art that is located in the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas. Nothing compares to the real thing, but the colors are fun and add some spice to our home.

My husband and I have quite the collection of owl paraphernalia. Our college mascot is an owl, so we’ve been collecting owls for a while. And then owls became trendy so it was easy for people to buy us more owls – its gotten a little out of hand, actually.
