Fab Freebie: Straight From The Art

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

This week’s giveaway comes from a site that so chock full o’ good stuff that it was a challenge to hone in on the perfect freebie items for this week. We’re talking about Artful Home, a virtual window into over a thousand artists’ studios that gives you access to 12,000+ original art pieces – from wall art and sculpture to furniture and accessories. It’s kinda like Etsy, but contributing artists are all professionals who are selected by a panel of art adjudicators.

So we sifted through the site and fell in love with several pillows and, since we couldn’t settle on just one, we’re letting this week’s lucky winner choose from the four pillows shown below: the nature-inspired linen pillows by Mariah Wren or the graphic, eye-chart pillow by Heather Lins. I know, tough decision, eh?

  • PRIZE: Your choice of one of the four pillows shown above (valued at $90 – $95).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the phrase “I HEART ART” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us your favorite piece of art currently in your home, whether it’s a piece of fine art made by a professional or fun art made by a preschooler.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSED: Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One and only one this week.
  • ELIGIBILITY: The prize ships to anywhere in the US and Canada.
  • THE USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I have lots of pieces I love that all have special meaning. I will say, though, that I love our framed print of Vettriano’s “The Singing Butler” hanging in our living room. To me, it is the perfect depiction of true love, and we received it as a gift during our engagement.

My favourite piece is an watercolor of Greece done by my Grandmother in the 60s. I’ve designed the colors of my entire house based on it!

I have some pottery made in my home state of Mississippi that I’ve had for many, many years that I love. It reminds me where I grew up and takes me back to my childhood!

I HEART ART – especially a picture I took in Venice, Italy that I plan to have printed on canvas when we finish our remodel.

Love your site. You inspire me to keep working on the remodel. Someday it will be finished and I will have the before and after pics (and the updated house) to show for it.

I have loads of preschool art! My favorite way to display it is on a curtain rod that I hung up in the kitchen, in the middle of a wall. We use the curtain clips to hold the art on. This way I can change it out quickly and often!

“I HEART ART”……………my favorite is my metal dragonflies in my bathroom. Cheap, yes. But they make me smile every time I see them.
