I love today. Not just because it’s my 29th birthday, but because we are giving away a gift card to (drumroll, por favor)… TARGET!

Sabrina is Target’s “Style Expert for Home,” which means she’s serving up design tips to to those of us who like affordable Tar-jay wares and coming home to a stylish space. I’AM A TARGET LADY! I have no idea how long ago I purchased my rattan filing basket from Target. It is so versatile that I haven’t used it for filing yet. You can turn it over and use it as a mini side table, waste paper basket, hold magazines and/or folded towels etc.

I have many beloved items from Target, but I think the one item that has made the biggest impact is a black glass lamp with a rectangular shade. Together, they’re just over a foot tall and sit in the corner of our kitchen, under our dark cabinets. With a florescent bulb, it’s on from the time I get up to the time we go to bed. I love how it brightens up an otherwise dark corner of the room, and the best thing, it was on clearance!

How can I even Begin to pick a favorite thing from this place?! I love it all, and spend most of our shopping money here. I will say, however, that our family’s latest purchase was a nice men’s gray peacoat we bought to bless someone in need this Christmas and we feel REALLY good about that purchase. Happy Birthday John!!! Ok, let me wipe some of this brown off my nose. I think my best deal was my red KitchenAid toaster for less than $20! I hoard red KitchenAid items, it was even our fate to purchase our ’56 ranch when I looked under the sink and found, you guessed it, a red KitchenAid garbage disposal!!! :) Also love Target for baby/kid stuff, the dollar area, the Starbucks, really who doesn’t like Target? Even the bathrooms are nice. Thanks!

Oh how I love that place. My best score there was some tissue paper that was on clearance for under a dollar. I know you are thinking to yourself ’tissue paper!?’ but this was AWESOME tissue paper that had a brilliant floral pattern on it. I used it to decoupage two small pieces of furniture. A cabinet and an old typewriter table. People are always asking where I got them. A little Mod Podge and sweet tissue paper from Target goes a long way!!!

My favorite item I got at Target is a large lidded basket that doubles as an end table in the living room. Functional as well as attractive, it’s got rich espresso-colored weave, holds 3 blankets, and is a nice place to set a beverage while curled up on the couch.
