I love today. Not just because it’s my 29th birthday, but because we are giving away a gift card to (drumroll, por favor)… TARGET!

Sabrina is Target’s “Style Expert for Home,” which means she’s serving up design tips to to those of us who like affordable Tar-jay wares and coming home to a stylish space. I’m a Target lady- my favorite thing about it is that it provides me with a much needed break when I need it. We moved a few streets away from one and sometimes after the hubby is home from work and the kiddos are tucked into bed, I drive over there just to wander the aisles and think for a little while and get inspiration. I also take the kiddos there a lot, not really to buy much but just to break up our routine on rainy days when we can’t go outside.

One of the best things I ever bought at Target was a new bedspread for our new daybed. I had this image in my mind of a yellow and white damask style comforter, and lo and behold, where else would I stumble upon the EXACT item that’s already in my head, but Target! Love it! It’s so cheery and perfect on my white daybed, and my daughter and I snuggle up on it every day for our reading time.

I’M A TARGET LADY and I love the set of dishes my grandmother bought for me on my 24th birthday. I remember I was very depressed because I was working at a restaurant at the time, to save money for our wedding. My then fiance, now husband was living out of state, my parents were gone, and I was not going to see my friends until the following week. My grandmother surprised me with cupcakes and my first set of dishes, which my husband and I still have and use. She does not have a lot of money, which made the gesture that much more meaningful.

I have two current favorite things from Target at the moment – a black skirt and a brown skirt. At 34 weeks pregnant they are the only bottoms that I can still fit in that are comfortable, work appropriate, and don’t irritate my little growing guy. My favorite part is that they’re totally not maternity skirts and they were each under $15. Yay Target!
