I love today. Not just because it’s my 29th birthday, but because we are giving away a gift card to (drumroll, por favor)… TARGET!

And while I always love a good opportunity to reference SNL’s Target Lady, this time I’m going to mention a different woman paired up with the red bullseye: HGTV’s Sabrina Soto. Sabrina is Target’s “Style Expert for Home,” which means she’s serving up design tips to to those of us who like affordable Tar-jay wares and coming home to a stylish space. I’m a Target Lady! Some of my favorite Target scores are from the Dwell Studio line. I have what I consider to be the most perfect shower curtain. It just fits my bathroom so well, and keeps me from overdoing it in such a tight space. My second favorite tar-jay pick-up is my Dwell Studio pillow that I recently bought for my living room. It’s yellow, graphic and FUN! It’s always calling me to the living room, to just sit for a few.

I have a Target within walking distance from my house. During last year’s snow storms I walked there just to get out of the house and found a beautiful, large, round, framed mirror on clearance. I ended up buying it and balancing it on my head as I carefully tromped through the snow back to my house. It now hangs over my fireplace and I LOVE it!

The best bargain I found has to be this little lamp that has a beautiful antique shade and the base is antiqued brown and looks somewhat like a pineapple (my husband calls it the pineapple lamp). It was on clearance for $5 and has been with me for many years. Yah for Tar-jay!”

I love going there – it’s almost restful to wander the aisles. (Is that sick?)
My best Target buy was a modern wire lantern/candleholder. I had no idea what I’d do with it but it was marked down to $3 – couldn’t resist! When we painted our dressers last month, it somehow ended up with the Target fragrance diffuser in it – and it works perfectly to hold the diffuser & keep the cat from knocking it over! The clearance racks are the best.

I have always been a target kid. I think my favorite purchase over the years is this fleecy black throw, I have had two versions of it. We affectionately call it the “nekid blanket” for its fuzzy nature. In reality it lives in a basket by the couch.
