Fab Freebie: The Royal Treatment

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

According to random.org, the royal treatment is going to Cathleen Pearson (who feels bad for Kate’s balding husband). Congrats!

No, not those royals. The majesty behind this giveaway comes from Royal Design Studio, whose stellar stencils will turn your walls into a stylish statement piece (but not in the way that a certain hat made a statement on a certain princess’ head recently). We’re crazy inspired by all of the stylish patterns and fresh color combos they showcase, and one of you will score $100 towards anything you find on their site. Enough chatter – feast your eyes on these babies (Sherry’s over the moon for the one on the top right) and be sure to head over their website for more eye candy.

Royal Design Giveaway

  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, May 11th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!

    I WANT THE ROYAL TREATMENT!!!
And though my mother woke me up to watch Princess Diana and Charles’ wedding I have to admit as an adult I enjoy my sleep too much to have gotten up for it this time around!!!

    I WANT THE ROYAL TREATMENT!

I didn’t watch it live, but snuck a look at pictures of her dress between my early work meetings and vegged out in front of my mom’s tv that night watching the entire thing. So much for not caring!

I want the royal treatment!!! It would be a fabulous way to surprise myself on my birthday – easier said than done. :)

And since we don’t have TV, I was able to avoid a lot of the royal wedding jazz. I’m marrying a British guy and even his family thinks Americans were over the top about it!

Royal Design Studio has really beautiful stencils. I love maroccan and damask. Can’t get enough… *sigh*
I only saw bits and snippets of the royal wedding, including these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MAAQ9wyQb8

I did not wake up early, I was perfectly content with the recaps blasted all over the news. I was very curious, though, on the fashion surrounding the big day!

I want the royal treatment! So long as it doesn’t involve a fascinator larger than my own face. And I saw everything I needed to know about the royal wedding in the first ten minutes of “Fashion Police” the next day.

I really didn’t have much interest in the Royal Wedding. Now if they were doint a tour of their house or the Castle, then I would have been on board.

    I WANT THE ROYAL TREATMENT

I wasn’t totally consumed with the royal wedding. I was curious to see her dress. I actually woke up on my own around 2 am (PST) and thought, “Hey, it’s starting. Should I see if I can catch a glimpse of her dress?” So I flicked on the tv, but after 20 minutes of Prince William, my patience was gone and the tv was off. I figured I’d wait for Oprah…Kate did look beatiful.

I WANT THE ROYAL TREATMENT! Yup, totally caught up, but luckily only in the last week! The night of, I stayed up til 3am — just 1 hour shy of seeing the footage live. But then I felt so ridic! I’m not sure what’s worse: giving up with 1 hour left or staying up that late :D But eeee Kate Middleton looked just so regal and beautiful, and all in all *le sigh* it was fantastic. Can you even imagine dreaming as a girl that you’d marry royalty? I mean, sure, we all dreamed of marrying Prince William, but *really* marrying him? That is one job (the royalty part, with knowing everyone + all the politics + can you really do what you want? — not the marrying part, since I don’t really know PW) that I don’t envy Kate.

I was right in the middle. I oggled over the dresses and fashion the day of, and bought the special commemorative issue of People magazine, but I mostly ignored all the hubbub leading up to it an sure as heck wasn’t going to stay up or get up early to watch it live!

    I WANT THE ROYAL TREATMENT!

I took the day off work (I may love weddings, but I can’t get up at 3 am), TiVoed the whole thing and watched the Today show coverage from start to finish – I only fast forwarded through the ads because I was too worried I’d miss “vital” commentary before the ceremony. I’d printed the ceremony program out in advance and followed along while watching.

It was a great, relaxing day for me and my puppy girl – and my hubby is 100% relieved I finished watching it before he got home. Our only debate now is whether or not I get to keep the coverage long-term or if we delete it (to illustrate this conflict: his email inbox ALWAYS = 0 while mine has 4,000+ emails, 2,000+ of which are unread).

I caught it almost by accident: I was getting ready for work and flipped on the TV to see the weather report – something I rarely do as I usually check the ‘nets – and I couldn’t avoid it! It was on every channel!! Lurrrved the dress.
Although, I will share this story: my cousin lives in London and actually planned on being OUT of the country/city for the weekend since it was going to be manic with all the media in town. They said it was a really common thing, too, most Londoners were absent from the ceremonies!!

Please. I am also in love with the top right pattern because that’s my future room color inspiration so I think getting a wallpaper instead of curtains/bedding/accessories would be a lot less expensive and it’d give me a blank canvas of white (I love white). :-)

Back to the question: I was so busy working the wedding came and gone without me watching it, but a friend DVR’d it and so I got to relax and see it later in the week. I only watched when they did the vows and mostly the normal wedding routine, but skipped everything else. If I were Kate I’d be exhausted, it’s a good thing a nap was scheduled for that day, geez.
