In honor of Father’s Day (yes, I realize it was yesterday, but why not keep the celebration alive?) we’re giving away – you guessed it – TOOLS. But these particular tools are Ryobi TEK4 tools, a series of ten cordless gadgets that look pretty darn sleek, are crazy durable, and run on a long-lasting 4V rechargeable battery. And come to think of it, ladies would look just as good slinging these guys (so they’re not just for dads). We picked our three most go-to devices from the TEK4 line and are giving them (plus an extra battery and charger) to one lucky guy or gal this week. I skyped with my Dad since I couldn’t go visit him. For my husband, we wanted to go swimming at a local waterpark, but that plan was rained out so we just grilled steaks and we’ll hopefully be able to hit the waterpark this weekend.

BONUS QUESTION: We’re expecting our first baby in 2 mo {YIKES!} so for an early fathers day present, I bought my husband a super-man-grill. This thing is stainless steel, huge, and GAS. Bought 4lbs of steak, invited a few of his best friends over, and bought a small keg of Sweetwater for them all to enjoy {I sipped on organic iced tea in case you’re wondering}. Hubby had a great time being with friends, drinking his favorite beer, and lounging on our new back porch– did I mention we just moved from Boston to Georiga? Last week? We’re go-getters for sure…

We spent the day with our daughter at Indiana University. She took her daddy out for Sushi.. it was a lovely lovely day with our girl! BTW… she LOVES tools. Dad had purchased her own tools over the years. she is totally a DYI girl. Daddy raised her right!! She would be drooling over this!

TEK ME, PRETTY PLEASE. On Father’s Day I drove out to Cedar Park, outside of Austin, to look at a vintage Craigslist dresser for our nursery-to-be. Then I called my dad, stepdad and granddad. Aaaaaand then I took a REALLY long first-trimester nap. I hope I win, because we ordered a new shelf and don’t have a drill to install it! : )

TEK ME! I sent my Dad a few shirts from Zappos, one of which even has SPF 20 in the shirt, since I get my always ready to burn skin from him. I called Dad and chatted for a while, then watched his almost countryman win the US Open (Dad’s from Southern Ireland, Rory is from Northern Ireland – there’s still a bit of bad blood there).

Our little kids are very creative and made a card using card stock that looks like a shirt and a tie. They wrote the most amazing things inside and even played a song on the piano. Of course hugs, kisses and a surprise dessert followed.
