In honor of Father’s Day (yes, I realize it was yesterday, but why not keep the celebration alive?) we’re giving away – you guessed it – TOOLS. But these particular tools are Ryobi TEK4 tools, a series of ten cordless gadgets that look pretty darn sleek, are crazy durable, and run on a long-lasting 4V rechargeable battery. And come to think of it, ladies would look just as good slinging these guys (so they’re not just for dads). We picked our three most go-to devices from the TEK4 line and are giving them (plus an extra battery and charger) to one lucky guy or gal this week. It was low-key. We spent the previous day at a family wedding so we were all a bit on the tired side. We mostly made phone calls to our various dads, grandpas, etc.

My husband and I moved into a new apartment on Saturday, so we spent yesterday unpacking and setting up with help from my parents. Our first daughter is due any day now, so we’ll get lots of Father’s Day fun when she arrives!

We celebrated yesterday with a brand shiny new Kreg Jig. Hub happy danced that I bought him such a useful tool that he’d never heard of himself, and I have you (and Centsational Girl) to thank for that one!
Now how double impressed would he be if I busted out these? His birthday is less than two months away! I could be the best wife ever!

We went down to my sister’s extended family picnic because my dad was going to be there, but it was nice to see distant family that I don’t see much. Then we headed over to my boyfriend’s dad’s for dinner and to see his sisters.

My poor husband is surrounded by girls, so he wanted a super manly, adrenaline boosting day. So, after he got off work doing baggage for Southwest, we took him go-karting, and then he played some ice hockey.
He doesn’t have a whole lot of patience for DIY, so these beauties would likely end up mine… but he’d appreciate the surprise either way. Maybe he’ll pitch in next time I hang a shelf?
