Fab Freebie: Supper Management

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

If you’re a busy mom like me – wait, let me start over. If you’re like me and hate grocery shopping, then this week’s giveaway is totally up your aisle. I’ve learned to enjoy cooking, but the chore of making a list, bleeding money at the grocery store and then coming home to find you’ve forgotten the cardamom still drives us to take-out more than we’d like. So imagine my delight when You’ve Got Supper entered our lives.

YouveGotSupper List

YGS was started by two busy moms right here in Richmond (holla) and basically does your weekly recipe planning AND grocery list making for you (double holla). Just sign up for their free weekly email for five easy recipe suggestions. Pick the ones you want to make (or add others from their archive) and YGS automatically generates a complete, printable shopping list for you. Basically, my lifesaver. And this week they’re giving away $100 in groceries to one of our lucky readers who just might need some lifesaving in the kitchen too.

We’ve been using them for a while now, and just last week we made three of their meals that we never tried before: Honey Chicken Kebabs, One-Pot Pork Tenderloin and Crispy Potatoes and Creamy Dreamy Mac and Cheese. Here’s that mac and cheese making Burger wish he were human:

YouveGotSupper Burger

And now for this week’s giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $100 gift card to the grocery store of your choice courtesy of You’ve Got Supper
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I WANT SUPPER” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us your favorite way to mix things up for dinner. Is it the classic breakfast for dinner? Or maybe a recipe swap with the neighbors. Or, our favorite, going over someone else’s house so they do the cooking.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 4th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the whole wide world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    I WANT SUPPER!

My boyfriend and I have a list of all the meals we have ever made that we’d want to make again, and we refer to that to plan each week’s meals. Just keeping the list helps us remember dishes we’d otherwise forget when you get into that rut of making the same easy favourites over and over. I’m looking forward to trying the recipes you guys posted which look so yum, and if all goes well they’ll end up on the list too!

Occasionally my husband will cook for me and he almost always makes pasta with cheese with ne’ry a veggie to be seen.

I’m an RA at a dorm up here in Washington State, so to mix it up for dinner I just make it myself! I’d love some grocery money so I didn’t have to eat the fatty foods they serve us here.

Oh man, I was just looking in to trying this service out. My husband and I are vegetarians and we’ve gotten stuck in a rut. Tonight is day 3 of our Billion Bean Soup and I’m mixing it up with some cheddar-cornbread muffins, but still… I’m a little bored.

My BF and I love to go to this small hole-in-the-wall place close to our houses called RoRo’s. It’s very small and eclectic and has the best pulled chicken sandwich and sides. Yum, yum, yum! Nothing beats this small, close to home style cooking.

I’m trying to switch it up more often as we are newly married. My husband loves anything (honestly he’ll eat anything) so he really lets me get crazy sometimes. I’ve perfected some dishes yet failed at others. All in all it’s fun.

Yes, it’s true, I WANT SUPPER.

Right now I’m cheating by putting a readymade lasagne in the oven. It’s either Stouffers or Marie C.

My favorite dishes are those that take one big skillet, or just the grill, or just a Dutch oven.

I’m about to hand in my thesis, so cooking is pretty low priority right now. I’ve found that if I hang around the kitchen looking hungry and forlorn, one of my housemates will usually give in and let me have some of their dinner. Win!

    I WANT SUPPER…please! pretty please!!

My husband and I are pretty social peeps and somehow our place seems to be where most of the social activity occurs. Wether it’s a friend stopping by to say hello and then stays for a meal or a group of rabid football fans watching the game and chomping away…it’s usually done at our place. After having been caught unprepared a few times too many I now keep a few got to staples for simple delicious meals/snacks/desserts in the pantry. And wouldn’t you know it…it’s time to stock up again!!

Lately we mix it up by finding ways to cook dinner in the microwave! Our kitchen is under construction, and eating out every night has pushed our budget to the limit. We’ve been patrolling the frozen food aisles for healthy, microwavable meals that taste homemade!

I want supper! My husband and I started a dinner exchange with his brother and his brother’s wife. One night a week they come to our house to eat, and one night we go to theirs. It’s perfect because we get to hang out, get a free home-cooked meal, and we aren’t stuck with tons of leftovers that will go bad!

Hubs and I do enjoy the occasional breakfast-for-dinner thing, but lately our favorite weekday meal switch-up is to go out to the little crepe place down the street. Cheesy deliciosity. Or we can really switch it up and order a banana split crepe–dessert for dinner! Woohoo!

    I WANT SUPPER!

We do “Friday Night Dinner” with our friends where each couple takes turns hosting dinner at their house/apartment. It’s never a big fussy meal (or every Friday for that matter), but just good home cooking, some drinks to unwind from the week, and board games if we’re in the mood. It’s a great way to stay connected to friends and save money by staying in!

That mac-n-cheese looks so good, it might be making an appearance at a “F.N.D” in the near future…
