Fab Freebie: Supper Management

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

If you’re a busy mom like me – wait, let me start over. If you’re like me and hate grocery shopping, then this week’s giveaway is totally up your aisle. I’ve learned to enjoy cooking, but the chore of making a list, bleeding money at the grocery store and then coming home to find you’ve forgotten the cardamom still drives us to take-out more than we’d like. So imagine my delight when You’ve Got Supper entered our lives.

YouveGotSupper List

YGS was started by two busy moms right here in Richmond (holla) and basically does your weekly recipe planning AND grocery list making for you (double holla). Just sign up for their free weekly email for five easy recipe suggestions. Pick the ones you want to make (or add others from their archive) and YGS automatically generates a complete, printable shopping list for you. Basically, my lifesaver. And this week they’re giving away $100 in groceries to one of our lucky readers who just might need some lifesaving in the kitchen too.

We’ve been using them for a while now, and just last week we made three of their meals that we never tried before: Honey Chicken Kebabs, One-Pot Pork Tenderloin and Crispy Potatoes and Creamy Dreamy Mac and Cheese. Here’s that mac and cheese making Burger wish he were human:

YouveGotSupper Burger

And now for this week’s giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $100 gift card to the grocery store of your choice courtesy of You’ve Got Supper
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I WANT SUPPER” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us your favorite way to mix things up for dinner. Is it the classic breakfast for dinner? Or maybe a recipe swap with the neighbors. Or, our favorite, going over someone else’s house so they do the cooking.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 4th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the whole wide world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    I WANT SUPPER!

I come up with my own recipes and scour my many, many cookbooks and online sites for recipes to adapt on a regular basis. I started a recipe/tip/gardening adventure blog called A BUSHEL OF WHAT?!, after my husband and I joined a CSA (Community Sustainable Agriculture) for the season. Check it out for other tasty meal ideas! http://www.abushelofwhat.com/

    I want supper!

I’m not much of a cook, but I really love to bake. Cupcakes are my favorite. My husband, on the other hand, really enjoys cooking and has a man-crush on the Take Home Chef. He loves whipping up dinner by just throwing ingredients together. If he thinks it will taste good, he throws it into his concoction, and it usually turns out great!

I love it when our sister-in-law has us for dinner. Even when she just “throws it together” it’s way better than our house. : )

I want Supper! What an amazing service. This is perfect for me because I rarely mix things up for dinner because I do not have the time to plan an entire week’s worth of dinners. This website could be my answer.

I’m all about combining leftovers to stretch the yumminess – Last night we had broccoli soup mixed with leftover Indian curry. So easy, so good.

My mix-it-up-tip is “leftover night”. Sounds boring, but it kills three birds with one stone… 1)everyone is fed, 2) it cleans out my fridge b/f shopping day and 3) I don’t have to cook on a busy night (such as baseball night). Genius….

My mom & I have been getting together once every two weeks and doing a huge batch of cooking. We make 5-6 main dinner dishes, divide them up and freeze them. As a new mom it’s SO nice not to have to worry about what to make for dinner each night!

Mixing up dinner….that is a good thought! We usually don’t do enough planning and end up going out way more than we should. I love to scope out new recipes though. I’m hoping that this would give me a good jump start to truly mix it up!

    “I WANT SUPPER!!!”

Weelllll… you see, I don’t cook as much as I should!! Being a single gal living on my own doesn’t make me want to run into the kitchen and make supper when I get home from work.. so I usually just munch on.. something! My boyfriend is an excellent cook and makes dinner for me occasionally, and I eat at my parents or sister’s house – basically speaking, I bum off of anyone I can when it comes to eating supper! But I could make all these people a big dinner as a way to show my appreciation with $100 in free groceries! Thanks guys!
