Fab Freebie: So Haute In Here

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Who doesn’t love a sale? Especially when it’s to the tune of 50-75% off retail. Well that’s exactly how HauteLook rolls when it comes to creating 48-hour deeply discounted sales on home items (as well as clothing and beauty stuff too). A new sale pops up every morning at 11am EST, but here’s a sampling of what was up for grabs last week:

Hautelook Tiles

And one of you is gonna get $100 to spend on HauteLook this week, meaning you could snag items like an $850 graphic rug for just 80 bucks out of your own pocket. Not too shabby…

Hautelook Rugs

Here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: $100 towards anything on HauteLook.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M HAUTE” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about the all-time best deal you’ve ever scored. Was it an incredible sale that landed you a deep discount? Or maybe you bartered your way to something for free?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 20th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Valerie J (who’s scored a $4000 Restoration Hardware armoire for only $315 just because the top crown molding was busted). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from HauteLook.

    I’m Haute!

I think every time I go to Marshall’s I come out with what I proclaim is my “best deal ever!”. Le Crueset baking pans for $10? Kuhn Rikon knives for $12? Gotta love it.

One of my best deals (not sure if it’s my all-time best or not) was getting a $600 8X11 green and brown zebra wool rug at Tuesday Morning for $120 (and I had $60 store credit, so it FELT like a $60 rug!). Someone had taken it home and returned it, and it had gotten a couple of pulls along the way. It was for a teen room, so we did not care about the little pulls (which were hidden under the sofa) anyway!

The side of the road is where some of my best deals are scored. It’s all about re-finishing/re-purposing. Managed to grab a chandelier and chair one time. Score!

    Haute hopeful!

I just got an All-Clad stockpot for a steal at T.J. Maxx. I’ve also found Wusthof knives there and since I have small feet, I usually get samples or the display shoe for a steal!

i’m haute…got my husband a free tailored suit by proving calling them out on some false advertising (in a nice way). they’d had a billboard for 2 for 1 suits that hadn’t been taken when it was supposed to be…and since we let them know it was still up (complete with texting them a pic of the billboard from the side of the road), they honored the deal even though it had long expired. it was awesome.

I just snagged 3 copies of a great kids’ game on clearance at Target to stash in my ’emergency birthday party’ pile. The game lists at up to $30 and I got them for $5.29 a piece!

I’m Haute! I’m not great at bartering, but I do love finding a good sale. I think the best deal I ever got was an accident. I got $300 shoes online for $2.97. It was a mistake that was quickly fixed, but they still honored my order at the ridiculously cheap price!

I’m Haute..I’m not sure it would be considered the best deal ever, however I love to shop for things I want and wait and check on them every so often for them to go on sale or clearance and then make the purchase. LOVE IT!

I’M HAUTE! The best find so far has been a zojirushi hot water dispenser from goodwill. Normally it costs $80 and we found it for $10! And I use it everyday!

I love finding deals so it it hard to pick one! We scored our new house for half of what appraisal was so that is a good one. I hit yard sales every weekend so lots of goodies from those as well!

The best deal I’ve gotten was the patio furniture I got from Sears that retailed for $800, but I got it for $200 because I waited until they sold all but the floor model and then talked them down on the closeout price.

Craigslist! It’s the absolute best resource for gently used and new supplies for the house – we’ve found everything from our bedroom set to the sod on our front lawn on the site.

I’M HAUTE …. I love the thrill of the hunt! One of my best deals was on Kitchen Aid mixers I bought as Christmas gifts at the day after Thanksgiving sale. After the sale price, early bird special price, open an account discount, get $10 back for every $50 spent, and a maial in rebate, I ended up paying less than $120 for a $350 appliance. … I did score a brand new pair of Ferragamo shoes on ebay for $12!

I used to buy things that seemed like a good deal just because they were cheap and then I’d end up hating them a few months down the line. So sadly, no really good deals that I’m proud of…

I’m Haute! I get a lot of deals on clothes. I bought a super cute pair of navy pants because I thought they were on sale for $7 and got to the register and they were $1.97!! Can’t beat that!

I always go to the clearance section or bargain section first. Every store I go to, I make a bee-line for those red signs! I’ve gotten $125 mirrors for $20.00, just because there was a TINY scratch on the side. I also got an AWESOME brass clock (the kind that are in old train stations) for about $20 when it was originally priced around $100!!!

We don’t usually get anything unless it’s a great deal! One of the latest was scoring most of the pieces of my halloween costume at a thrift store for half off the marked price.
