***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Who doesn’t love a sale? Especially when it’s to the tune of 50-75% off retail. Well that’s exactly how HauteLook rolls when it comes to creating 48-hour deeply discounted sales on home items (as well as clothing and beauty stuff too). A new sale pops up every morning at 11am EST, but here’s a sampling of what was up for grabs last week:

Hautelook Tiles

And one of you is gonna get $100 to spend on HauteLook this week, meaning you could snag items like an $850 graphic rug for just 80 bucks out of your own pocket. Not too shabby…

Hautelook Rugs

Here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: $100 towards anything on HauteLook.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M HAUTE” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about the all-time best deal you’ve ever scored. Was it an incredible sale that landed you a deep discount? Or maybe you bartered your way to something for free?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 20th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Valerie J (who’s scored a $4000 Restoration Hardware armoire for only $315 just because the top crown molding was busted). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from HauteLook.

Best deal I ever made? Was probably the couch I purchased for my front room. My mom owns a home decor store so I got it at wholesale price (60-70% off)! Woot!

The best deal ever was in a 3rd world country’s barter market. American dollars were a hot commodity, so I walked away with 7 pearl necklaces for my bridesmaids totaling $7.50 each… brought them to an appraiser who would said, if restrung, they would be worth $150 a pop! WOW :)

One of my best scores? A “buy one, get one free” kitchenaid mixer. My friend and I were both engaged at the time and browsing Kohl’s when we saw the sale sign! We immediately called our parents and asked if they wanted to purchase us kitchenaids for our wedding (we were poor college students and didn’t even have enough for it at half price!) and they said yes! When we went to check out, they said it was marked WRONG! It was supposed to be “buy one, get one half off”… but when they looked at the display and saw their error, they honored the price! Awesome. And I LOVE my mixer. And my husband loves it because he can now whip up homemade chocolate chip cookies in a jiffy :) Thanks, hubby!

All of my recent bargain hunting went towards furnishing my new apartment (which happens to be in Virginia!). It took me weeks to get all of the furniture I needed (in the meantime, I made great use of random cardboard boxes…), but I ended up finding great deals – like the $250 coffee table I got for $50. (There were several things – that table included – that I was able to negotiate down at the time since they were floor samples.) It took awhile, but everything finally came together!

I’M HAUTE – I got a couch from a college friend for $40 several years ago. It’s 9 feet long, but in two sections so I have it set up as two one-armed 4 1/2 foot couches in my apartment living room. I love the fact that it has a light wood frame and all removable cushions and if I pack it in right I can easily carry the whole thing in the back of my Rav4. Great portability for a nomadic post-college 20-something year old, and I helped out a friend with a little extra cash. Sweet!

One of my best deals was spending 60 bucks and getting two almost new really substantial dressers, three completely new end tables, and a DVD/VCR player at what was essentially a sell-off of furniture and other stuff from military lodgings. Also, I got my bed at a ridiculously low price because we lived in a furnished apt and my apartmentmate wanted to offload it from storage — pretty good considering it had only been slept in once before I got it. :)

I had an Internet coupon for 60% off everything at a clothing store, and when I got there, they said they were giving people an additional 10% off after the 60% coupon… but when she rang up all my stuff, she ended up giving me another 60% off instead of the 10%… so I got $400 worth of work clothes for around $70. It was insane!
