I’m not sure if this is the “best deal” I’ve ever scored, but a few months ago I was looking to buy the Ektorp love seat from Ikea for $479. Before I splurged, I decided to check out Craigslist, in case someone decided to sell one for a lot less. Well, it must have been my lucky day because I found one, in the color I was looking for, in almost perfect condition for just $100!

I’m haute! The best deal I ever got was on…baby socks. That’s right, baby socks. The pack of 6 was originally $12 and I scored it for 70 cents. As it turned out, they don’t stay on my daughter’s feet, so they weren’t such a great deal after all.

We were redoing our bathroom and were looking at $200+ for a new sink top. We happened to see an ad on Craigslist for a local company that was selling cast offs and bought a perfect one for us for $50!

On Lowe’s website they had an unbelievable deal for a Whirlpool front loading washer/dryer. I printed out the ad and went to my local Lowe’s. It was unbelievable alright, because it was a mistake. The store had to honor the price. I also won my dining room set from a local furniture store when the Red Sox won the World Series!

I’m Haute. I scored a real Prada purse at a TJ Maxx in my hometown of Cary, NC for $100. I don’t think anybody knew what it was..it was before Prada was everywhere. Best deal ever!

I’m Haute! My most recent best deal was a couple of weeks ago when I was lookin’ to buy some organic potting soil for some fall landscaping projects. I stopped in at Wal Mart (not my favorite place) because my budget was super small. Turns out they sell their open bags of landscape materials for way cheap just to move the product. It’s not advertised, you have to ask for it. I scored a bag of organic manure and humus for .96 and a gigantic bag of organic potting soil for $2.50. The $5 budget I had went a long way that afternoon. Both me and my garden were pretty stoked.

The best deal(s) I scored were picture frames from a town wide garage sale a few weeks ago… We wanted to do a gallery wall in our living room, but didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg. We hit up the local garage sales and scored 12 big frames for about $30! The best thing is they are all unique and are going to look great on our wall!

Hands down, best deal was $100 for a beautiful wood table from Pottery Barn…and 6 matching chairs! They were a craigslist find from a woman trying to downsize- we didn’t even know they were Pottery Barn until I flipped the chair over and saw the $199 price tag per chair!

I’m Haute! Best deal ever…furnished and decorated my entire living room (mid-centuryish) for under $300. I got a Lane 1965 coffee table for $20 at a thrift store. It is beautiful! I’ve seen the same table on antique and auction sites for $400 and up.

I shop Hautelook on the reg, can’t begin to name all the awesome deals on there… best yet however, wasn’t at Hautelook, instead it was at a merchandise collection and resale place (the guys that buy up good stuff that still smells smoky after a fire or has water stains on it from a flood. I found a current season DVF dress for $30, and an Ethan Allen couch that was a Katrina victim retail $3400 for … $250!!

I found my diamond wedding band for 60% off at the store’s anniversary sale. I would have preferred to get an estate piece (used is the greenest way!), but I just couldn’t resist the sparkle for the price, and now we have an investment that appraised for more than twice what I paid.

I’M HAUTE! I found an entire set of high end cookware in a pile that someone was hauling off to Goodwill and the dump. It was very dirty, and they gave it to me for free. Once I got home and polished it up, it looks good as new! They had no idea what they were pitching!
