Fab Freebie: Ready, Eames, Fire

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

This giveaway hit our 10,000 entry cap just a few hours before usual closing time, so random.org had its work cut out for it picking a winner. They selected… Kelsey (who thinks “an Eames chair is the foundation to a good collection”). Congrats on your new foundation piece!

Who wants to win an Eames chair this week? Better yet – who wants to win several Eames chairs this week? Well, one of you is going to, because the folks at the Herman Miller Store are gonna hook you up with $2,000 worth of product! That’s enough to choose practically anything from their catalog of iconic furniture pieces from award-winning designers. And even if you don’t score the grand prize, they’re offering up a discount to everyone that could save you some serious dough on that statement piece that you’ve been pining for. Check out all the details below.

HermanMillerGiveaway

Would you give anything to hang an original Andy Warhol piece on your walls? Or are you still trying to catch your breath over the thought of having an Eames chair in your home?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Aug 8th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)

    Miller Me!

I am inspired by Sarah Richardson. I think the way she mixes patterns, textiles, new, and old pieces is genius. I love her color palates and always love her bathrooms! My favorite house is her farmhouse (Sarah’s house Season 3). I love Eames because it lends itself to eclectic decorating and taste. I can see a classic Eames rocking chair hanging out next to a tiger-maple bowfront dresser! I would DIE to have anything EAMES!

    MILLER ME!

I’ve always loved the look and feel of mixing a bit of industrial/modern elements with some antiquey/cottagey accents. A concrete floor with simple/modern dining table & an old chandelier = perfection!

    MILLER ME!

I love Harry Bertoia’s designs. I have been in love with the Bertoia Bird chair ever since experiencing one at my friend’s house when I was a child. Of course, I had no idea it had a “name” until later when I was an adult. I loved to curl up in the nest-y seat of that chair! I will definitely have one, one day!

Miller me! I love Eames, Saarinen, Bertoia, all the mid-century modern designers! I think they look best when mixed in a cozy environment, instead of showcased in the home like a museum! I am moving to Los Angeles, my 1st apartment on my own out of college, and could really use some new furniture! Fingers crossed!

MILLER ME!!!! I LOVE LOVE Charley Harper – mid-century artist…his artwork compliments Miller and Frank Lloyd Wright. He’s a local artist (from Cincinnati) but his artwork is internationally recognized…it’s charming, witty and whimsical…think you would love it! Our son LOVES his children’s books

MILLER ME! I’d love to have an original by Jean-Michel Basquiat he started out as a graffiti artist in New York City in the late 1970s and evolved into an acclaimed Neo-expressionist and Primitivist painter by the 1980s (thanks Wikipedia) I saw a documentary on him years ago and I was hooked.

BONUS QUESTION: I went to the Stein exhibit at the MoMA in SF last year and Matisse’s “Lady with a Hat” captured my imagination. The painting has inspired me to experiment with color, something that intimidated me before. Art had never affected me like that before!

And yes, I’m still swooning over the idea of having a real designer (Eames no less!) piece in my home!
