I love love love Van Gogh – his art is such an inspiration to me – the colors, the subjects, everything. And he was such an amazing man – dealing with some SERIOUS issues and never realizing the legacy he left during his short lifetime. I’ve been able to see a few of his actual paintings in galleries and I am always blown away by his talent.

Wow, Miller Me indeed! What a wonderful giveaway. My husband and I are deep into residency training, and are moving in September- planning has been a special mix of nesting-fantasy (Eames shell chairs for our dining room table!) versus nesting-reality (oh! the student loans!). Would have been pretty spectacular to meet Charles and Ray Eames, who seemed to really master the winning combination of enthusiasm, pragmatism, creativity and love needed to create really wonderful design.

I love all things George Nelson, particularly his bubble lamp design. I frequently go through periods where I will eat nothing but ramen in attempt to scape enough pennies together to buy one, but then things like property taxes and vet bills happen and all my pennies float away. miller me! i love paintings by Walker-Moore, a husband and wife who paint together: they take turns on their canvases, and each artist is allowed to paint over or revise their spouse’s previous work. They take turns until each agrees the work is done….unique style…beautiful result.

I love all types of modern chairs (okay, maybe just chairs in general…). For me, the surest way to get me to pin an inspiration room is to put a Barcelona chair in it (van der Rohe). It’s a weakness. I once saw a really beat-up one at a thrift store for $1,000 and still think about it over a year later. Not that I could have afforded it, or that I would have known how to rehab the worn leather… but it still sticks with me.
