That’s enough to choose practically anything from their catalog of iconic furniture pieces from award-winning designers. And even if you don’t score the grand prize, they’re offering up a discount to everyone that could save you some serious dough on that statement piece that you’ve been pining for. Miller me! I stumbled upon a painting by a lesser-known Fauvist artist in the Van Gogh museum years ago. I would love to hang Kees van Dongen’s work on my walls. Look up: Portrait of Guus Preitinger the Artists Wife 1911. Stunning!

I’m a graphic designer so of course the first person I thought of was Milton Glaser. It feels stereotypical to say but I’ve always found him to be very good at communicating the power of good design. He makes me feel like a super hero.

Fun fact–I actually had a piece in a Herman Miller furniture shown during my undergraduate career. Studying and responding to their strong sense of design was a blast–they sure have some geniuses over there!

Miller me! With an Eames Aluminium lounge chair! I live in Michigan — birthplace of HM — and went to college in Holland (right next to HM headquarters). Once upon a time they had donated a bunch of furniture to the college so my dorm common area had HM furniture in it. Chicklet couches and the Eames Aluminium lounge chairs we in each suite. So sweet!

We moved into a classic mid-century modern home last fall (built in 1940) and have spent the last 9 months trying to strip away all of the crazy moldings and faux arches and beadboard and other randomness away to restore the place to the gorgeous clean lines and minimal look it was created to have.
