Fab Freebie: Pump Up The Volume

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

I’m gonna bust out some flashback lingo from YHL circa 2008: prepare to swoon. This week’s giveaway is from our lovely sponsor Jessica Rose at Vol. 25, home to some of the most charming art around. I mean, how can you not fall for these robotic lovebirds?

Vol25 Robots

The great thing is that Jessica’s artwork comes in the form of prints, t-shirts, rubber stamps, mouse pads, books and even photoshop overlays (so you can add a little hand-drawn flare to a photo). And since we couldn’t even begin to pick just a few favorite items for the giveaway, Jessica’s hooking up TWO of you with $50 gift cards towards anything in her shop (plus there’s a discount awaiting everyone on Thursday so stay tuned for that). Now you that know what’s up for grabs – how ’bout some more eye candy?

Vol25 Bicycle

Vol25 Typewriter

And here are all the contest deets:

  • PRIZE: A $50 gift certificate towards anything from Vol. 25’s shops on Etsy or Zazzle.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with either the words “PUMP IT UP” or “TURN IT DOWN” depending on…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … whether you love a loud and lively lifestyle or you prefer to keep things quiet and peaceful. Do you feel better surrounded by lots of activity, energizing music, or boisterous laughter? Or would you rather find yourself in an intimate conversation, enjoying soothing nature sounds, or quietly reading a book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 21th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: TWO
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world! Woo to the hoo.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    Turn it down!

I’d rather be reading a book or watching a movie sitting on my couch in some slouchy clothes than all glammed up to go to a loud restaurant or club.

    PUMP IT UP!

I thrive in the chaos. I swear, I get more done if I have less time to do it. I was unemployed for a month— when I got laid off I vowed to spend hours at the gym, cleaning house, painting, renovating….. yeah. I just spent hours watching TV.

I need chaos and a little bit of stress to fire me up and keep me motivated!

    Sidebar: These prints are adorable!

PUMP IT UP & TURN IT DOWN

When I’m at home with just my husband or out with friends I like it to be calm, and quiet for good discussion and to wind down for the day, but usually when we are with our families it is the opposite! Both of our families are loud and boisterous, and enjoy laughing and goofing around most of the time. With family…the louder the better!

I work at a fast-paced, often noisy PR firm so I like to chill out with friends or cook dinner on weeknights after work. I’ve found that chopping veggies is a great stress reliever.

Turn it down… as a full-time graduate student, I live for the weekend when I can just sit still and take a breath! I’m glad the weather is getting nicer, too, because it’s even more relaxing when I can do my sitting still and breathing deeply outside. :)

With all the hustle and bustle of college life, I enjoy those rare quiet “me” moments. However, I like to pump up my music and dance like a fool when I get ready for the night…which may or may not have resulted in me once throwing out my neck ;)

    pump it up!

i am a public school band teacher and i see 300 kids a week from 5th – 12th grade. i hear everything from the first few squeaks and squaks to near college-level musicianship. i end up putting in about 60 hours of (noisy) work a week, in addition to practicing and going to my own rehearsals as well as my husband’s performance (he is a professional musician in DC). although i would love for life to be a little quieter sometimes, it definitely never gets boring around here!

PUMP IT UP! I just found out about your blog and can’t stop! My husband and I live in a 1930s house and though it is in great condition, are obsessed with making small house projects – building a mantle, shelves and working on our backyard. Some may say was have addictive personalities :) We love to host and entertain our friends and family and are so proud of what all we do to make our house a home!

I love the family get-togethers, the parties and BBQs, with lots of people, and time with my ranbunctious toddler. I also cherish my quiet Friday mornings after my husband leaves for work before said toddler gets up. I can keep the TV and iPod off, and enjoy a magazine or an interesting book.
