As for luck, the only ritual I come closes to is saying a little prayer to St. Anthony (patron saint of lost causes) when I can’t find something, works every time for me! I felt so committed to it that I tried to take Anthony as my confirmation name in high school. The director wouldn’t allow a female to take a male saints name, so I boycotted an didn’t take any name at all, HA.

We have a tradition of blessing each other in my family when someone has something important happening or they are going on a trip. We say “God bless you and keep you safe” and trace a cross on their forehead. If I need a blessing, even our littlest can do it!

Lucky charms… I am really weird about numbers so I like to try to arrive places at slightly funny times, i.e. on the 3 or 7 rather than 0 or 5 – a very odd superstition, I know! And yes, 13 is my lucky number.

I couldn’t agree more about what a pillow can do to the over-all look of a couch. The hubby and I were furniture shopping and he came across an awesome sectional with khaki cushions and cool greenish leather base, but I glanced and immediately said nope! Why, because I all I saw was awful soutwestern style pillows..at second glance I saw the full potential of my wonderful sectional that now has a home and new funky pillows at my house!
As far as a lucky charm the hubs got ran over by a car (like his body under the wheels) a few years ago..long story, but he still has the undershirt he was wearing that day and jokes that it is his lucky shirt.

And as for my ritual…it’s singing. I know that sounds silly, but it’s true. I’m an athlete, so I think the singing just helps me get the jitters out of my head and focused. I don’t know if it’s so much a lucky ritual, but it works for me!
