Fab Freebie: Moore Candice To Love

*** This contest is now closed – see who won below!***

And this week’s random winner is… Stacy (who says “when I was little, I got the local radio dj’s autograph and thought I was so cool! Looking back, it is just funny how silly it was!”). Congrats Stacy!

We love us some Candice Olson (and still pinch ourselves that our faces share a webpage with her over on BenjaminMoore.com). So we sweet talked our way into a little Benjamin Moore / Candice Olson prize for you guys – including a signed copy of her latest book, Candice Olson Bedrooms. So once you’ve torn yourself away from petting her signature (not that we’d do that, ok we totally would) and are ready to put that Olson-spiration to use, Benjamin Moore’s gonna lend a hand with two gallons of their Aura paint, a 7-piece applicator kit, a $50 gift card, and your very own Candice Olson Design Picks fan deck. And if that’s not enough of a Candice fix for ya, you can enter to win a personal design consultation from her over on Benjamin Moore’s site.

Benjamin Moore Giveaway2

  • PRIZE: Two gallons of Aura paint, a 7-piece applicator kit, $50 gift card, a Candice Olson Design Picks fan deck and signed copy of Candice Olson Bedrooms courtesy of Benjamin Moore.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MOORE ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what other autograph have you snagged? Did you get your favorite band to sign an album cover? Or receive a signed letter from a big name public figure? Maybe you got a big novelty check signed by Ed McMahon? Or just a sweet crayon-drawing signed by a niece or nephew?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Sept 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada (we couldn’t leave out Candice’s homeland!)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Benjamin Moore.

Alas, sadly I have never had anything signed by a famous, or infamous person. Have I led a sheltered life?? LOL
I would LOVE and cherish a signed book by Candace. She is absolutely one of my top two favorites! I am always stunned by her beautiful designs! Fingers crossed here!!! Oh, and BTW, have always been the most satisfied Benjaman Moore paints. We have to drive ‘miles’ to get them, but never choose anything less.

I have an autograph from Norm Abram (of this old house fame) on a circular saw blade. The autograph is to my son who loved to watch “worker man” shows (no disney for this dude) The blade is framed with a photograph of both my kids with Norm, the kids were 3 and 6 and Ive hung the frame, in my sons room and off each corner is my sons first work boots and his little tool belt that he used to wear. So cute. My worker man is now 19 and in college. Lets say I could use the paint to paint his room a more college age color ; )

I’ve been having fun going to readings and book signings the last couple years, and as a result, some of my favorite authors have autographed books. It’s so fun to live somewhere that authors do come through on their tours often, and to meet the people that write my favorite series. Although I think signed books are very cool (because they symbolize a connection to the existence of a real person behind the book), I like them more as mementos of getting to meet cool people, and listen to them talk (or sing).

Moore Me! When I was in college, I loved a band called Lostprophets…loved them so much I went to their concert and stood next to the mosh pit with a broken collarbone (not the best idea fyi). While my BF at the time was off flailing about in the mosh pit, a kind stranger protected me and his GF from the crazy crowds…best part though was having the band sign my sling (I still have it!)

You can MOORE ME any day of the week!

When we were kids, my Gramma and her brother took us to the UConn Women’s basketball games. Every now and then we’d get some autographs from the greatest female players ever to grace a court: Jen Rizzotti, Rebecca Lobo, Nykesha Sales. I don’t know about down there in Virginia, but in CT, women’s basketball is a BIG DEAL, and those are some great memories.

    MOORE ME PLEASE!!! :)

There are many signatures in our house.. including some from our 3 boys who LOVE to color and autograph (or maybe more like graffiti!) anything but paper! I’d say the most unexpected signature was that of our oldest son who decided the hood of Daddy’s honda needed a nice big ‘WILL’ written on it with a rock!

MOORE ME! Back in 1998 my friends and I somehow sweet-talked our way into a sold out Third Eye Blind concert at the House of Blues in Orlando. And after the concert was over, the guy who let us in (who was their tshirt designer) gave us backstage passes to meet the band. Then we had the band take a zillion pictures with us and sign every single article of clothing and piece of paper we had on us. It was absolutely awesome and a great memory too.

Moore me! I had one of my velcro shoes signed by the singer of some obscure band that I liked when I thought I was a hipster (they had a song that referenced a velcro shoe). It was awesome at the time because he came down to the audience some time after the concert was over and I spotted him first. He signed my shoe, then looked around nervously and sprinted backstage. Felt pretty special getting the only signature.

Coincidentally enough, I once got a signature from Mandy Moore after she performed at my high school. Seems a fellow student had won a free concert on the radio for her to come to our school and perform. Since I was in our school’s student government I got to meet her and she signed my arm. Though I joked I wouldn’t ever wash my arm, I’m pretty sure it was gone by the next day of school.

I have two people that I have been so excited to get their autographs.
First is Bob Saget aka Danny Tanner. Grew up on Full House and it was awesome to be able to have met him and gotten a picture and autograph from him.
Second is Lee Woodruff, wife of ABC New’s Bob Woodruff. She spoke at my employer’s annual convention and I had the honor to meet her and receive her autograph.

    Thank you.
