I love Candace’s design show more than any other on TV. I have Oprah’s signed photo, from when I entered a contest showing pics of myself eating right and exercising. She didn’t feature me, but that’s ok, I’ve gained all that weight back and then some!

My sister bought me a Tyler Florence cooking book as one of my birthday gifts and inside was an autograph from Tyler Florence! She saw him at one of his signings. I was super excited to get it because I couldn’t make it to the event.

And my husband and I are huge baseball fans, so on the weekend before Father’s Day earlier this year I almost fainted when I heard that Martin Prado was doing autographs… my friend and I snuck over at the tail end of his signing and got in to see him when the room was almost empty! He took photographs holding my 1 year old, even kissed her! Such an awesome gift for my husband to see one of his favorite players holding his daughter and signing a glossy photo for him.

I had a chance to meet Dr. Phil at an event he did in Toronto. He was kind enough to sign a copy of Self Matters for me and a friend.
And before Candice went big time, an ex-girlfriend visited her to get a quick consultation on how to decorate my very first apartment. I think my reaction at the time (mid 90’s) was “you paid how much?”.

The most memorable signature I have was a gift from a friend who met the author and illustrator of the Dinotopia series. He was able to have James Gurney sign one of his books and even do a small drawing. The gift was unexpected and wonderful :)

This would be perfect timing as my bedroom is due for a new coat of paint and I keep threatening to put some stencils on the wall in the guest bedroom to help pull it together. Currently the colors of the shades & comforter are just a little off – we need something to make it look intentional, instead of saying, “This is where we put stuff we don’t know what to do with.”
