Fab Freebie: Moore Candice To Love

*** This contest is now closed – see who won below!***

And this week’s random winner is… Stacy (who says “when I was little, I got the local radio dj’s autograph and thought I was so cool! Looking back, it is just funny how silly it was!”). Congrats Stacy!

We love us some Candice Olson (and still pinch ourselves that our faces share a webpage with her over on BenjaminMoore.com). So we sweet talked our way into a little Benjamin Moore / Candice Olson prize for you guys – including a signed copy of her latest book, Candice Olson Bedrooms. So once you’ve torn yourself away from petting her signature (not that we’d do that, ok we totally would) and are ready to put that Olson-spiration to use, Benjamin Moore’s gonna lend a hand with two gallons of their Aura paint, a 7-piece applicator kit, a $50 gift card, and your very own Candice Olson Design Picks fan deck. And if that’s not enough of a Candice fix for ya, you can enter to win a personal design consultation from her over on Benjamin Moore’s site.

Benjamin Moore Giveaway2

  • PRIZE: Two gallons of Aura paint, a 7-piece applicator kit, $50 gift card, a Candice Olson Design Picks fan deck and signed copy of Candice Olson Bedrooms courtesy of Benjamin Moore.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MOORE ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what other autograph have you snagged? Did you get your favorite band to sign an album cover? Or receive a signed letter from a big name public figure? Maybe you got a big novelty check signed by Ed McMahon? Or just a sweet crayon-drawing signed by a niece or nephew?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Sept 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada (we couldn’t leave out Candice’s homeland!)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Benjamin Moore.

MOORE ME! I have pioneer woman’s autograph on her cookbook and also on her children’s book for my daughter. Waited in line at one of her book signings with my cousin when I was 7 months pregnant! But it was worth it. She’s so nice!

I recently got to meet one of my favorite authors, Joshilyn Jackson, and she signed a copy of her latest book for me. Which was awesome, because she was just as funny and sweet (and sassy) in person as she is on her blog and through her books.

Remember Michael Johnson? That awesome olympic runner with the gold shoes??? He came to our elementary school (I lived in Waco and he attended Baylor) and the only thing I had for him to sign was a Berinstein Bears book- halloween edition. He chuckled at my choice of material but I’ve never forgotten that moment!

But my most prized signature is the inscription on a book by Jane Goodall, my lifetime hero. I was in tears getting to meet her( at 24 yo). Lol. Looove her!

My husband got Giada de Laurentiis to sign one of her cookbooks for me because I’m a huge fan of hers. He asked her if she could write “happy birthday” in it because it was for my birthday and he told me that she wasn’t very gracious about it. It was kind of disappointing to hear, but I give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that she was just tired/frustrated/something else :-)!

I have an old t-shirt with the signature of Barry Williams (aka Greg Brady) from an uncle who danced with him in a musical. I’ve never asked anyone for an autograph. Hopefully one day I’ll run into someone worth asking and gather the courage (at a YHL book signing?!), or I’d love Candice’s book :)

My celebrity autograph is from Bob Hope. Met him when I was 13 and my friend’s dad played upright bass in a backup band for him at a county fair where he was performing. My friend’s mom went up to him and said, “I have three teenage girls…” at which he said, “that’s not my fault!” What a quick wit!

Lol, this just cracks me up. In middle school I went to see Jamie Walters at a free show down on college campus, and he signed a picture of his for me, and hugged and kissed my check.. I remember it fondly. Jamie Walters is that singer/actor that was dating Donna on 90210, oh so long ago.
